Was wondering, when you wax your string do you wax the serving too????
If I am shooting a Flemish twist string, I wax it all from end to end. If I am shooting a Continuous Loop string, I do not wax the loops.
Often enough to keep the string feeling a bit sticky with wax. When it feels dry I get the wax out and wax it. I don't wax the serving. My release is sticky enough already.
No waxing of the serving.
I do a lot of stump shooting and the nock often gets filled with dirt and debris. The dirt ends up wearing the serving prematurely. I think waxing the serving helps slow down the abrasion. I use Halo serving.
When I started shooting a bow over 30yr ago I was told no wax on serving or loops.
I wax the loops on my flemish twist strings because the strands are twisted together and rub against each other and the wax lubricates them and I believe makes the loops last longer--maybe just a tiny bit on the serving from time to time where it strikes my arm guard and gets a bit frizzy, but not where I grip it.
