Title: Zipper Nitro? Thoughts and pictures please!
Post by: TradBrewSC on June 02, 2013, 07:53:00 PM
I'm in the market for a new longbow, and thinking a TD. I haven't ever shot a zipper, but man I like the looks of it! I would love anyone's input and if you own one to see some pictures would be nice!

I'm in Columbia, I have always been a Jeffery recurve man but trying to step out of my box!  I really want to try one out, I'm thinking a 58 or 60" being that I'm a 27" draw.

Just like Benjy, I'm a Zipper addict !!!  The Nitro is one sweet shooting bow !!! Great grip, fast, quiet, and dead in the hand. Not to mention it has some really nice lines. This bow is pretty special to me. Sure Bill Dunn could fill you in.  :D

I had one for a while that was 61@28 and it was a rocket with carbon foam limbs. I sold it with a set of 52lb limbs and still have the 61lb limbs. I talked to Bill last week and I'm getting another riser from him but with a custom grip for me! I can't wait, they are quiet and fast!

My quest for a bow that is "My bow", meaning everything I want in a bow,  stops with the Nitro.  I am working on getting another as we speak.   It is the only bow I shoot.
Man,  what a bow!  I can't say enough.

Shot one a while back. Great shooter. Really slings an arrow. I've owened several Zippers, but only the SXTs. It would be hard to beat a Zipper. And even harder to beat Bill Dunn, he's a great guy. God bless.

Zippers are great shooting bows. I bought my first one last summer and won the traditional world championships with it. It will not be my zipper I own. You will not be disappointed In it at all

Thanks for the info! Good job on the championship! It looks like I'm going to have to talk to Bill. What do y'all think about the carbon limbs? I like the looks of wood better but if the performance is there I could be down.

I like foam core limbs more than wood. And if you get a carbon foam core with wood veneers its still purty!

I have carbon/foam core limbs and they will smoke an arrow. They are great bows but I didn't get along with the grip so I'm having Bill make me a new riser with a custom grip!

Don't forget about the Zipstick - if you want a 1 piece longbow - best Zipper grip yet and a little lighter.

Carbon/foam is a little faster and stabler than boo.  The sound may be quieter, but is hard to tell because it is different.

The wood veneer does not typically go on the back of the bow if you use carbon, but you can put snake skin on it.
