One of the (many :p ) items on my bucket list is to hunt all 50 states. Have hunted 14 so far - some multiple times. Hoping to add 2-3 more next year.
How many states have you hunted, and do you have a favorite!!
Good for you I hunted 6 states
IN, IL, NE, MI, OK and will add CO to the list this Sept. In Canada I have hunted Ontario and Quebec. I believe I have worked in more states than I have hunted.......sad ain't it! Mike

MAP

Indiana is challenging enough. Why should I spend my money and go somewhere else?
wish I could....I have hunted 5 states that I can remember....all were tied to military assignments except Georgia which I hunted for first time this year for the PBS Member Hog Hunt.

19 for me. If bowfishing counts make it 20.
Plus 5 Canadian Provinces.
It was fun just to go through the list in my head - lots of good memories, and I hope to add more. Never thought about trying to do all 50, but heck, that sounds like fun. I have a new goal!!
I haven't in as many counties as some here have states!!
13 states and 1 Province.
IN, MI, KY, MO, KS, WY, CO, AL, TX, AZ, OH, and Ontario.
I lived in four of these states so I hunted IN, KS, MO, and KY a lot.
A couple of these are a bit bogus: AZ-Pigeons, OH-Rabbits
I keep turning down standing invitations to hunt private farms in Iowa and Illinois but I can't leave my own backyard to go hunt in someone else's? Just doesn't make sense to me.
God willing I'll add Alberta to the list this fall.
Thanks, Joe, for reminding me of the memories. I did not say that I was successful as far as harvesting game in each situation, but was definitely successful in enjoying a wonderful opportunity and good memories of each State!
I have had many people who know that I travel to hunt ask why. My explanation is that while some folks like the sights and sounds of the cities - I am more partial to the rural and wild settings - and to the people who make these areas their home!
MI, OH, WI, IA, KS, NE, SD, ND, MT, WY, CO, NM, AZ, TX, CA, and Alaska. UT, NV, and ID are in the works.
Also YK, AB, SK, MB, ON, and QE in Canada. Dreams of BC and NWT daily.

I am really content with hunting my home state of Fl. and don't really strive to hunt other places.
South Carolina, Ohio, Maryland, Wyoming, Colorado, Quebec, Zimbabwe...
When you put it in that perspective, I don't hunt near as much as my wife says!
Yes, Joe, the memories of other places is so much more important than the states themselves.
For me: Washington, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Rhode Island, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Argentina. I'll add Newfoundland this fall. I'd love to add more southern states to the list as well as Alaska, New Zealand and more South American venues. Just dreaming about some of these destinations is a part time job :campfire:

As far as favorite that would be more species determined. Mulies and elk would be Co. Pheasant Ne. Turkey Ok. Hogs in Tx. Whitetail in Ky and Ar. Chucker in Nv. Qual in Az. Utah is a fun chucker hunt too.

I've noticed not alot of people are hunting in NY. Lemme just say, NY has some seriously big deer also, and literally millions of acres of state land.
I would suggest to anyone who hasn't done so yet, take the challenge and hunt a big buck in the adirondacks, you may not get a buck, but you wont regret it. No lottery for tags, you can have a bear tag too ... many grouse to shoot.
Anyway, for me NY (upstate and LI), VA, and MD
NY,UT,ME,WY,SC,TX,OH. Lord willing a few more before my time is done. I really like seeing new country to explore as much as hunting different species and quality of game.
