Title: GT 3555 in different models
Post by: BRONZ on June 02, 2013, 08:43:00 AM
Can I expect GT Traditionals 3555 and the Expedition Hunters 3555 to shoot "the same"?  If they have the same length, insert, point wt, etc.

No.  The spine is noticably different from what I saw.  Even the Stu Miller calculator treats them differently.

I just went through the same thing.

I bought GT Traditionals after tuning some GT Expedition Hunter 3555's to my bow and found out the expensive way that the Traditionals are 9 #' lighter (63 # vs 72 #) in spine by my spine tester.

Of course I discovered this only after cutting to length and shooting them...

Made a similar mistake with some AD Trad Lites.  Inserts are epoxied in...expensive mistake.

I know the feeling...

Quick update:

In the name of accuracy I just double checked my spine readings, your spine tester may vary but the difference should be the same.

Of my 6 Traditionals, the spine was a constant 63 lbs.

My 3 Expedition Hunters were 64, 67 and 71 lbs.

My zero adjustment was slipping on my spine tester, these were the readings after tightening it up.

I wonder which spine Expedition Hunter I was tuning with now, I'd better number them and find out, the water is getting murky.
