Seems like I go for weeks on end without seeing game.. Then the luck will shift.
I have three Wesley Specials and I use them all.
Today I was carrying a 68 incher thats right at 60 pounds at my draw length. It's a favorite. In fact, I've decided that whichever of these three I happen to have in my hands is my favorite.. Now that is a terrible thing, isn't it!! I suppose that I'm about as lucky as a fellow can get with these three, they work well for me.
I usually try to go for a walk after work on a daily basis, today was no different. After taking note of the wind direction I made a long loop through the woods. While I was walking I often stopped to shoot at a clod or a stick or any other target that caught my eye. For me, this kind of practice is about as good as it gets.
I swung back through the woods to intersect a creek that borders the timber. As I was coming out of the woods I saw a small group of shoats on the opposite side of the mostly dry creek. I went stealthy ! As I eased out of the woods I loaded the bow with an arrow equiped with a Zwickey Delta, it had been file shapened. The small pigs were about half way up the bank on the other side of creek bed. When I was about 25 or 30 yards from them, the largest of the group turned giving me that quartering away shot that works so well on pigs.. I was burning a spot before the bow ever came up - and I felt sure the arrow would fly true. I came to full draw, touched anchor and the arrow appeared in the spot I was looking at.. Fellas if that ain't magic I don't know what is, lol..
A number of pigs are given away but this one looks like a fine candidate for MY freezer!
I thank the Lord daily that I'm able to prowl the woods and prairie..

Awesome story & results Pat. Thx for sharing!
I was just thinking you must have a commercial cooler big enough to hold all these pigs. You are certainly feeding a lot of people this year, Bravo :clapper:
I think it may be the magician behind the magic Hill bows that keeps collecting them pigs!
Congrats on another fine hog!
Well done Pat, love the story and photos.
Great job again. Nothing like having magic Bows. But I think its the wizerd behind those bows.
Congrats for the hunt, you and your bow are a single thing!
Congrats once again Pat. Having a place to go do this on a regular basis, and having 3 Hill's to do it with?....well, not sure it gets any better. Keep at it!

Good job Pat!! Aint it a good feeling when you know you`ve made a good shot before the shot.RC
Pat,
You are a killin machine. Congratulations again.
Very jealous of a man that can take a walk every day and be able to shoot a trophy like that. I can do it during the long Maryland deer season but once that ends its pretty much back to stumps.
very cool man, I know they are destructive, but I kind of wish they were running around these parts.
Couldn't have said it better, thats why we do it, fabulous!!
Very nice! Congrats.
