Have to add that if James made this any more accurate he should send a free bag target with it. Yesterday I had to get up at 450 to go to work and I got home a little after 6pm and the mail still hadn't arived. So the mailman delivered the bow around 630 pm and tired as I was with tired eyes i was shooting it reall well. This morning I had to meet some people to workout this included flipping a 300lbs tire weel this wore my back and forearms out. After this I had to go to my mothers house to help with yardwork. After this I got up on her deck as this mimics shooting from a treestand and I was wearing the bullseye out, with a sore back and sore forearms usually I cant shoot worth 2 cent after working out.
Also of note I'm shooting it without a side rest.
Sounds like its fitting you Mike!!!!
My Morningstar is shooting lights out also
I hope that is a reverse handle bow. I just can't wrap my mind around how it looks. Kind of like seeing a knee bend the wrong way. Anyway, If that is a James Berry bow, you will love it.
Arne
Mike lets see the whole bow in one picture, relaxed and full draw. Please!
God bless,Mudd
Now that I look at the pictures again; it looks like the grip is dished on the what would be the back of the bow grip. Is that usual on a reverse handle??
Arne
Moe,
It is dished on the back of the handle, and yes that's how James does it on the Morningstar. He is making his reverse handles in the true riser format of an American longbow instead of the glass over styles you typically see. Since the glass runs the full length across the belly but none on the back that is where he is shaping the grip.
It sits so unbelievable well in the hand it is scary!!
James made mine as a tribute to my late brother and it is my favorite by far. James is an exceptional man and has super bowyer skills. I have a Vixen that I have had for many years that I didn't think could be replaced as my favorite but James did it with my Morningstar, "Brother David". Thanks Mr. Berry
Wow. What a great looking bow. I love all my berry bows. I want a morning star bad. :)
moebow that is a very comfortable grip. Mudd ill see if I can get my mife to take the pic you requested this after noon.
That is a sweet bow Mike.
Here ya go Mike

whow!....its backwards!
Very very nice, waiting for my morning star... Tic toc.....
Beautiful bow... Have fun with it. Hope I can get into one of those one day.
Thanks for the post.
JW
Thank you!!
Awesome bow for sure!
God bless,Mudd
Arrow, I'm about 20 minutes from you, pm me if you like to shoot it someday bud
I love my Vixen, but that Morning Star looks even harder to torque. Anyone shoot both?
Arrow don't be like I was and allow the "backwards" look to put you off.
These bows are shooters on top of being eye candy.
I changed..... after seeing a bunch of old photos of Howard Hill shooting this design.
There wasn't anything in those pictures that in any way looked awkward.
God bless,Mudd
Trad,
I own both and the Misty Dawn. The vixen is still my favorite ad I'm sure it will always be, BUT the Morningstsr just seems to cast an arrow surprisingly hard and fast. The balance in the hand is great also. There is a difference in feel between the two (not a bad feeling) but I can see the advantage of less torque potential with the reverse handle design. I love it.
Aloha Mike,
Great looking longbow. What are the specs?
I am also waiting for my Morning Star.
Mahalo & Good Shoot'n,
George
I have both. I give a very slight edge to the morning star because it has a bit more cast but it is a litlle bit heavier also. Also I give the grip a slight edge I feel just a tad bit more positive hand placement with the reverse grip.
George on day we must hunt hawaii!
Here is the man
