As usual I made my yearly trip down to see Nate at Bamabows. Got to shoot a Tribute that was on hand. I really liked it a lot. I was wanting to build a bow in memory of my father in his favorite woods. So I left Nate a large block of locally cut Black Walnut for the riser. I picked out some curly maple for the limbs. It will have walnut and phenolic for the riser overlay and limb tips. It will be 68 inch and 60@28 and with a straight grip. Be at least six months out till I get it. This will be my first custom build. Could not be any happier with Nate and his hospitality. He was very helpful with me on this build. Now the wait begins. Will post pictures when I get it.
Sounds beautiful, I'm sure it will be. Nate is great to work with and he builds wonderful bows.
That does sound beautiful. Congrats on the build
I love my Tribute I did the same thing wanted a bow with all domestics for wood, I had some pieces of Locust that I sent him, he used that on the riser and the limbstips, used the Walnut for the Limbs! Can't wait to see it!
That sounds like a very special, one of a kind Bama! Congrats. Can't wait to see Ol' Nate crank it out!
I need to get down to Tulsa too. I want to test drive a few of Nates bows, and that looks like the only way I'm gonna get to. Looking at the Elite Classic and the Expedition especially.
I have two of Nate's bows (hunter and elite classic) they are shooters. Nate is a great individual and is always willing to assist and talk with you. He is a excellent bowyer and definitely establishing himself in the archery world. You cannot go wrong with him.
