Title: Aluminum footing woodies?
Post by: stickum on May 23, 2013, 01:56:00 PM
I saw a guy at the range that had an aluminum arrow footing on his wood shafts which allowed him to use a screw in point. Has anyone tried this, and what size  fits an 11/32 shaft?

It was probably these:   (http://www.3riversarchery.com/images/medium/4364X.jpg)

Very similar to the Tophat adapters...the only apparent difference is that the Tophat system does not require the shaft to be tapered for installation thereby probably making it a stronger system.... it is also more expensive and requires extra tools to purchase.
