Hmmm....3 Virginia boys!
I'm thinking SC may never be the same.
I'm working on one more from VA.
Remember there's gonna be EIGHT bunks now Bob!
Will the bunks accommodate that there breathing machine Ray?
Ray is making sure the Andrew transfers the couch from the HH digs over to the new facility. That thing fits him like a glove  !!
Seriously!
BTW, Sir Ray - mean it about the Hot Stove sign. If it doesn't make it to the new place, I want to frame it up.
Hate to loose it in the the big weenie roast and smores eating contest when the ole place goes ;) !
Uh...
I'm in!!! No way I let the new digs get invaded by an Illinois dude and me not be in tha truck :p
Yo Ray, you got my deposit already. Just move it on over to this week and I'll settle up for turkey time...I mean black coyote missin' time :archer2:
Are deer on the menu that weekend???
OK..
Im with Mike. Two Illinois boys heading to Sout Kalina.
I believe the deer are a "go" but you need to let Andrew respond on that
He is out of pocket at the moment but back next week sometime
If there be a spot left I need it! It'll be a warmup for my March trip.
Sounds like there will be a full house...Awesome! Looking forward to meeting you guys!
Izzy. There is still unclaimed spots for two hunters (er, hog draggers :biglaugh: ).
Make a great combination early b'day/Christmas present!! ;)
Come on by yourself, or, better yet, find ya another yankee and join us VA and IL boys in camp (I cannot believe that I invited another yankee down South!). Next thing I know there will be yet another carpet-bagger down here claiming he is a Southerner gentleman  !!
I've got a story on that Bob I'll tell y'all at camp ;)
Me thinks there will be all kinds of stories ;) !!
Shoot, one or two of 'em might even have a shred of truth :biglaugh: !!
I'm in for a spot, if no one minds. How do I submit deposit?
Another Virginian, we'll have em outnumbered :campfire:
Send a check to the address Rcorbitt listed above.

Brian will be a standby for now, so there is still a spot.
Any takers??!!
Let the record reflect I LIVE in Illinois but I am a TENNESSEE boy born and raised :saywhat:
Gonna be epic!
I would like to go if you have a spot left.
Have fun.
Tom
Simmons/cedars and blood on the ground sounds like a good theme for me on this hunt. My deposit is going out today.
PRK. Just sent you a post. That will make 8!
Full house  !
Great, I'll send a deposit today.
Paul,
This will work out great. Since I don't have to outbid you on the Bacon Strip hunt now ;) , I can enjoy your company in camp
Gonna be some good stories around the fire on this one!!!
Pm me your contact info.
Bob
Deposit just went out in the mail!
Mine awaits our mail to go out!
Deposit sent!!
Bob, I was thinking the same thing about the Bacon Strip hunt but if Terry works out the lease issue I'll jump back in and I'm sure you will too. Looking forward to hunting with you boys and I'll get my contact info to you.
Yep on Bacon Strip. Really want to hunt with Terry!
Thanks, Paul!
Sent my deposit out just before noon. Bob, will forward contact info soon. Looking forward to this. Christmas times a'coming, Christmas times a'coming...!
Dan
:clapper: :clapper:
All right a Minnesota Representative.... December will be shorts weather for us Minnesotans.
PRK and RBCORBITT I think you should ignore the bacon strip auction if it gets worked out. I'll be happy to tell you all about it.... :biglaugh:
Seriously, I wish I would have jumped on this one this morning...
Gator1, it will certainly be a reprieve from our MN winter, especially if next year is anything like this past winter. Heck, the ice just went off my lake 10 days ago.
When Andrew gets back in contact range, I'm going to see if we can extend the group size a bit without logistically making it FUBAR ;) !
Wild Thang group - have all contact info and will compile complete list and send to each of you.
Spoke with Ray this PM. This is gonna be one for the journals :) !
:campfire:
Bob,
You got my info don't ya?
10-4 on that Ken!
Bob,
I think you should just buy the darn camp, you can fill up spots, quicker than a bartender and a pitcher of beer.
Ahahahahaa! He done good!
Thanks, guys!!
Okay, it's official. Camp is full at 8 (not including Ray and Squirrel Bait). Too many peoples makes the piggies nervous ;) !
Thanks again for all the interest! I, too, was surprised at how quick she filled up!
Check out the new thread on Wild Things. Pictures and link to website! It's gonna be great!!
Okay! We've got two spots open due to scheduling conflicts.
Here is the group as of now:
Marc Bishop, VA
Ken Atkins, VA
Brian Lance (Big Sexy), IL
Dan Frazier, VA
Paul Kindamo, MN
Bob Corbitt, VA
Unfortunately, Mike Davenport and Izzy had conflicts that interfered with the dates (they will be missed).
Here's your chance to check out the improvements to the ole Hog Heaven and to hang with some good ol' TradGang hunters!
Contact me if interested.
Bob
PM sent
Bob,
I'm interested. Drop me a PM and we can talk. OK?
Joe
Bud B and Joe,
Got your PM's/E-mails. The rates are listed at beginning of the thread. No increase as of yet. The first two folks who get their deposits in to Andrew at Wild Things will balance out the camp.
Look forward to seeing you there!
I am in but am at work right now. I'll be trying to contact Andrew ASAP to send payment.
Email and voicemail left for Andrew.
As of 6:25 PM, spots filled by Bud B and smokin joe. Will let you know if things change.
Thanks, all! Looking forward to a great trip!
Bob
Back up top on this. Ken Adkins was drawn for a coveted Radford Army Arsenal hunt the same weekend as the scheduled Wild Thanks hunt , and Marc Bishop had a work conflict come up.
What this means is that there are two spots open for the December 6th - 8th (arrive in Estill and to Camp on evening of the 5th). Contact myself, or Andrew at Wild Things if interested in attending this epic hunt!
The first $ 100 deposits that Wild Thing receives has the spots.
See the above thread for list of other attendees. Hope to see you there!
TTT.
Two tarheels and a Virginian. Who wants to join us?
:archer2: :shaka:
I want in! Just tell me who to pay!!! Thanks for the heads up Bud.
Just left a message Bob.
Todd,
I'll call in AM. One of the spots is yours. See info earlier in this thread or on the Wild Things website about where to send your deposit!
It will be good to have you in Camp!
Bob C
Thank you sir! Check will be in the mail in the morning. Can't wait!!!
Todd makes 7 and Brian (Big Sexy) thinks he has #8 filled.
I'll let you all know status tomorrow!
BTW. The solar calendar says THIS is the weekend for daytime game movement!!!! Something will get stuck!!
I'm gonna have some goodies for the attendees and am trying to get a commitment on a couple neat prizes for biggest piggie, smallest piggie, biggest lie, etc..... :biglaugh: !!
Okay, one spot left until we are back to full house! This is gonna be a good one!
First commitment and deposit check to Andrew fills out the camp!
A few of us from Ohio are heading down there in March, it will be our first trip to wild things. It's good to have something to look forward to!
TTT, Hog Hunters!
This will be a fantastic trip!
One more spot available!
TTT
To the top for a great hog hunt opportunity with some fellow TG members!
Great company. Fantastic food! The best weekend of the month to hunt according to the moon phase calender.
Come on - just one more spot!
See the Wild Things thread by Andrew - trueblue - about all the improvements that have been made for the upcoming hunts!
Back up top!
Two openings available for this great hunt opportunity!
Bob, I'm beginning to think no one wants to hunt with us..... :(
It will be their loss :biglaugh: !!
Factor of the economy?? Oh well, wether it's 6 or 8, we will still have a great hunt!!
I'm working on some arrows for my 72# Hill Centennial. Maybe one will be loosed on a SC hog :)
Wow!! You're more man than I am!
Here's a quote from Andrew that I just received via e-mail
"I'm pleased with all the changes and trust that all of you will be as well. I'm putting out 200-300 lbs of cron most days and, every morning, every kernel is gone. The workers are furiously finishing the bunkhouse in time for the first group of hunters in two weeks. New treestands are being set up this weekend along with fifteen automatic feeder."
Sounds like its gonna be really nice  :clapper: !
I'm still a teenager with that bow. Still a work in progress.......but at least I can shoot it a few times before giving in :archer2:
I talked to Andrew a while back too, sounds like the efforts are really paying off!
A week or two ago he sent me a picture of a HUGE tree rubbed raw up to waist height and coated in fresh mud. I swear I spend most of my time deer hunting thinking about hog hunting!
Thom
Who is committed to going Bob? I know things happen and circumstances dictate what we can do at the moment but would like to know the lineup so we/I can start communicating with the group.
If there is still a spot left, I'd like to join the crew.
Thomas,
Contact Andrew and if the spots are still available you'll need to send a deposit.
His contact info is on his site and he's thankfully a sponsor here on tradgang as I'm sure you're aware :)
http://www.huntwildthings.com/
Thanks, Bud B.! I contacted Andrew and sent my deposit. Sounds like a great time. Hope to do a story about this hog hunt for TradArchers' World magazine.
I'm in Bob. Looking forward to it.
Received an e-mail from Andrews assistant Mary-Beth stating that we were back to full house status for this hunt!! :clapper:
The attendees are as follows:
Yours Truly
"Big Sexy" Brian Lance
Bud Blaylock
Joe Tilford
Todd Herndon
Thom Jorgensen
James Pressley
Tom Colstad
Going to be a great group in camp and (hopefully) some good TG stories to be posted!
It will be here before we know it!
That's a great line up of hunters. I am looking forward ti the stories that come from this camp.
I"m going to try and stop by myself....since I got bumped outta mizzu,
Terry
Sorry to hear you missed mizzu did they beat the dawgs yet
:scared: :scared: :scared:
Yeah.....they beat the 'partial' dawgs.....not the 1st stringers.
Sad.....siomuch hope....but banished to the sidelines. :(
This hunt is going to be great.
:bigsmyl:
Timing, timing, timing. I wasn't sure how my wife would react to the idea of me doing another hunt in 2013, so I waited for the right time to bring it up. One night she was putting away groceries and I heard her lamenting the fact that there was only 4 packages of hog sausage left. "Oh really, cause there is this thing in December..." :bigsmyl:
See you guys a month from today!
Thom
Thom,
Our group went 3 times in only 11 months!
I didn't quite have to resort to tears, but let's just say there was some creative begging that took place to pull it off.
Thom you da man! I had a similar experience. My wife told me not to come home with ribs and sausage. I'm blessed to have a wife and kids that love wild pig meat. Can't wait to get down there!
Email sent to herndondt, smokin joe, and rbcorbitt ref travel plans/planning......
Terry,
That would be great if you could make it to camp! Looking forward to opportunity to meet you and rest of the guys who I haven't put face with name yet ;) !
Bob
Just pm'd all participants of upcoming hunt. Putting together a list of contact info etc.
Just emailed Andrew about meeting plans for Thursday PM.
It's gonna be fun!
Chase and I will be there this weekend to help put some finishing touches on stands and feeders....will test a few out for you guys just in case. I think ya'll are going to be in for some serious shot opportunities from both the ground and air from what I've seen so far.
The new camp is one of the nicest hunting accommodations I've seen. 8 bunks, two separate shower/bathrooms, and a washer and dryer even! I miss the nostalgia of the old camp, especially the porch but I don't think anyone would trade after seeing the new one.
Sounds great!
Missed Andrews call today - he's breaking in the new camp this weekend.
Some neat things for the Dec 5-8th attendees!
Shirts ordered, and I've gotten commitments from some sponsors for some fun door prizes! :clapper:
Now, if we only get Terry Green to make an appearance!!! ;)
:clapper:
Man I can't wait!! What would we ever do without you Bob???

If you get any good photos please let me know, all the ones of the camp on the website are pre-renovation and I hear things are looking really good out there these days. If not I'll be bringing my good camera in December.
Thom
Thanks for all of your coordinating Bob!
Looks like we not only have a great group of hunters but we should have some pretty classy digs to stay in too!
Thom
Thank you all for the good words about Wild Things. Had a really good first weekend last week with two gentlemen(???) from upstate Virginia, Gregg and Jack. They saw, at best count, 53 swine, loosed an arrow or two, and seemed pleased with everything. They saw the old camp, where we usually had breakfast( the new kitchen wasn't quite finished) and seemed very pleased that they didn't have the full trailer experience. They were great about eating supper at my home in Estill because of the new kitchen. The new kitchen will be ready for my group next week.
Weather was perfect. Many laughs, many stories (some true), and a promise to do it all again.
Looking forward to all of those of you who have booked and those of you who are planning to.
Andrew
Andrew- It was a great trip and we will be back. The new digs are worlds better than the trailer. A fantastic time was had by all.
Oyster Roast on Saturday! Just got word from TG Sponsor Braveheart Archery that a "goodie package" is on the way! Thanks, Tim!
Kudos to Braveheart for their excellent choice of products and super quick shipping! (Tim even refunded me the difference on shipping costs when it was less than what the website calculated - that is GREAT customer service!)
The trophies are in for the Most Successful (Luckiest SOB), and the Best Story (Most Full of Cr@p) winners! ;)
It's getting closer, fellow "Hog Wild" camp-mates! Gonna be some great stories (maybe even one or two might have a hint of truth to them :biglaugh: )!
It just keeps getting better! Thanks Tim for your donations and also to you Mr. Corbitt thank you for all the hard work you are putting into this hunt. God bless everyone!! See y'all soon!
Looking forward to some great eats, fantastic hog hunting and sharing tales with Hog Wild camp mates. It will be great meeting the other seven hunters, Andrew and hopefully, Terry.
Got word from South Cox last night that he's going to try really hard to have one of his new Jackal longbows ready for a TG tryout at this event! Thanks, Cox!
Getting closer!!!! I'm ready
This is going to be great. I have had NO time to hunt deer this season (way too much work), so I am looking forward to getting after the HOGS. I'll be packing this weekend and double checking everything.
1. shaving sharp broadheads -- check
2. clean hunting clothes -- check
3. flashlight -- check
4. compass -- check
5. knife -- check
etc.
etc.
:bigsmyl: :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:

Good job, Joe! It's gonna be a great adventure!
Looking forward to sharing camp with you!
Bring a few field point tipped flu-flus.....
I know what that means!!! I'll fix some up! I have to run a club shoot tomorrow so I'm going to be sharpening broadheads fletching arrows & making a list. Man I can't wait this is going to be the best hunt yet.
Good luck guys!
Can't wait to hear all about it.
Get 'em boys!
Getting on the road later this morning. Three glorious days of no work and lots of hunting.
:bigsmyl: :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
Expect a new thread soon.....an entertaining one. :campfire:
I had to bail as I was running the St Jude's Half Marathon...then it got canceled. Noooooooo! Looking forward to the thread :)
Waiting for the stories.........pics,pics,pics. :campfire:
I'll wait fro a couple of the guys to get back to the frozen north before beginning the thread. But it was a good time.
And nine fellers stepped off into the woods in pursuit of something wild....
Just got up after a longgg drive home in the rain. Tom Colstad just hopped in his car for the second leg of his trip home after catching a few short hours of sleep here. I imagine the stories should start coming soon.
I will get mine up here in short order, but have a few things to take care of first...
Back soon.
:coffee:
Brian and Company....Someone is going to start a new thread, Bob said he was late the last night at the fire....so wait and add your stories to that one....
Was really nice to meet each and everyone of you. Just another memorable group hunt as always. Hope we have a 'II' hunt next year!!!....maybe I'll actually be able to hunt instead of riding shotgun ....but I had fun doing that just as well.
:campfire: :campfire: :campfire:
Just a note for anyone there, remember to contact me to arrange for photo uploading if you need it. James wins the "johnny on the spot" trophy for having all his pictures done before I unloaded my car!
I got a few really good ones, I look forward to seeing what everyone else got!
Thom
Just got home about an hour ago... Snow, sub-zero temps and 20mph breeze. A little different than what I left in SC. I'll post some pix and quips from Hog Wild Hunt #1 later. Tom
Just sent you my pics Thom. Hope they are useable.
Bud
