I would imagine that all of us have a shot that is tough to overcome. For me, it is 20 yrds. off one knee, on both knees im fine, im not sure if its psychological or not, but it just kicks my butt at times.
Whats your toughest shot? :campfire:
3D that dang standing bear. I miss that stupid thing or hit him in the paw ALL THE TIME!! And the leaning one I just clean miss. All the time

Eight yards at a Turkey! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :biglaugh:
Standing bear kills me too!!!!
But sitting on my but trying to shoot a 68" longbow is rough
HaHa! Matty, its funny you brought that up, those dang bears give me fits as well!
most of the time, her ---->>>. (http://i1244.photobucket.com/albums/gg561/graybarkhunter/10695-DEFAULT-m_zps373bca93.jpg) (http://s1244.photobucket.com/user/graybarkhunter/media/10695-DEFAULT-m_zps373bca93.jpg.html) :knothead:
Dave, 8 yrds might as well be a mile when your heart is pounding, and the adrenaline is flowing!
sometimes those gimme shots are the hardest to earn! :biglaugh:
Almost any shot with someone I don't know watching.

Put me on the list for the standing bear also. I have no problem with a leaning grizzly target or walking black bear. I have a standing black bear that I just cannot hit center mass, it is always left or right in the elbow or paw.
Same here. Those bears tear me up. Maybe straigharrow it's because we don't have bears in Iowa.
any spotted target, axis, cheetahs etc.. I usually hit that bear pictured above with a perfect line buy high every time too
I do poorly on almost all 3D targets that have a low, wide body shape such as lying down deer, alligator, etc. I think the brain sees the larger and more "normal looking" body rectangle represented by most deer, bear, hog targets etc. more frequently and considers them to actually be "normal". Then when it sees the odd looking, low rectangle body shapes, it freaks out a bit, thus making it harder to concentrate on a given spot. Yeah, the standing bear presents issues, also. Don't even get me started on turkey targets.
On live targets the hardest shot is always the one I am currently trying to make. Sometimes I tend to over think, even at modest distances.
on a black bird in my buddies (stixbowdrew) back yard on our bird seed bait pile, no matter how many arrows we shoot at them, its 90% of them time "i just missed that one% but its fun concentration and who cares deer are bigger anyways.
I hate the above pictured bear. To add to the mental drama it seems to always be infront of an arrow eating jungle.
Under 10 yard shots are awful.
Steep down hill. The adjustment and or over adjustment can give me fits.
ALIVE! black bear at fading light.Nothing there to pick a spot.Just a black blob
Quartering "to" 3D shots. It is very hard to get that sweet spot just behind the shoulder. I almost always hit the front skeletal structure,or go a bit to wide and gut sack the shot. rat'
ANY 3D turkey targets!!
The under sized rhineharts (they throw off my distance) standing bear and small deer
ya that standing bear melts my brain....
and whitetail deer at oh about 22 yards... they don't just stand there and take it like a man.
Mine is standing up in a hammock with a 40mph cross wind. Makes it tough to shoot a 3" group at 20 yards. :saywhat:

SERIOUSLY... Adds to the drama. In my case they are always in front of the river. Where you are sure to lose your $10+ arrow!
River what river? There is no river just a target thats all just the target.
Another one for the standing bear. You wonder why so many of us have problems with it. I will not even think about it when I shoot it and still have problems with it.
It warms my heart to see that everyone hates the standing bear.
I vote we call it the Dancing Bear!
Best shot I've made on a 3D target was on one of those "dancing bears". But I hate shooting when my dad is watching. I have struggled with target panic in the past, and anytime my dad is watching me shoot, it comes back. Don't know why, but there it is.

x2.
Standing bear here, too.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has problems hitting Turkeys!

Laying on my back shooting over my head.Gary
Anytime I shoot sitting down. I do fine standing, kneeling, twisted in odd positions, but the shot sitting is one I wont take at an animal. I have tried to overcome it, but it is my fail shot 90% of the time or more. I can't even predict which way I will miss. No camo tents for me.
Chris
Moleman, which knee do you have up when you shoot off of one knee? I read something recently that showed what should've been obvious to me. When down on one knee, the one that should be down is the FRONT knee! Gives better string and bow claerance and has at least as much stability as the back knee being down. Maybe that'll help?
P.S. I'm SO glad that I'm not the only one that suffers from inter-cranial gas (aka brain farts) when shooting at the bear targets!!! That is the one "trophy" that I desperately want to achieve in hunting, a stickbow bear! I just figured it was my brain trying to discourage itself from success!! Lol!
Any live deer or pig. :knothead:
standing bear for me too..... :dunno:
I hate the gator.
Standing turkey
Standing bear here as well.
That big cobra that has about 12 scoring rings.

For me it's the tree stand shot straight down between my feet. I've shot high more times then I care to remember!
Years ago the night before the deer opener, I had a dream. A medium 8 pointer with a heavy body was walking by at about 15 yards. the buck fever was so bad that i thought that I was going to die. when I was getting ready to shoot, or try to shoot, the deer turned his head, looked straight at me and said in a deep voice,, "What do you think you're doing". Now every time a deer comes by and looks at me, I relive that dream nearly stroke out and crap myself. When they figure they have had enough and start to leave I jump up, step into the shot and shoot the deer. It sure would be nice if they would look somewhere else once, but being a still hunter and ground hunter that does not happen very often. Perhaps my new bush in a bag may help with that.
The wide open shot, If I have to bend, kneel, sit or just about stand on my head I can most times make the shot. Wide open in a field, no wind, sun at my back.........I will not hit where I want to or miss all together.....no matter what the target! :dunno:
Yup! 10 yards or under.
I practice the close ones, but I have a mental block against them.
The bedded deer and the standing bear, I'd rather shoot the bobcat in a tree any time.
