I'm planning a bow building event for a group of kids from church. I've had some success with board bows in the past but I'm far from an expert. My thought is a pyramid bow I could cut out on the table saw / band saw in advance and have the kids cut nocks, finish sand and glue on backing. Anyone have any good pointers or suggestions?
Thanks,
Mark B
Sorry, should have put this in the Bowyer's Bench, wasn't thinking!

This is perfect for kids
Thank you!
Our state org does a ton of kids bows out of PVC pipe. Cheap, quick and indestructible.
Hadn't thought of that one. Indestructable sounds like a good feature to have! May run to the Home Depot at lunch - sounds like a good prototype project for me and the boy at any rate!
Thanks
youtube is a great resource for the pvc bows and other kids bows as well. you can learn to do anything on youtube...literally!
Yeah that's why I try to keep the boy away from you tube. The whole neighborhood is at risk!
Thanks a lot, we'll start experimenting this evening.
I've made a handful of red oak board bows for kids, but only up to about age 5 (they're 48" long and won't take a draw longer than a 6+ year old can muster). Pm me if you are interested and need more info.
