i bid on a bunch of things right off, to get things started (most of 'em lower bids, but adding up to about $140 bucks), and was promptly outbid on almost all of it. meanwhile, tons of other stuff has no bids at all.
i was just wondering if i committed some sort of faux pas. i don't expect to win everything i bid on, of course. didn't mean to insult anybody either. hard to believe my taste in hunting gear is THAT good, haha! :biglaugh:
Someone always has to start each one. May as well be you. Just, pick a few and don't stop !

Gotta start somewhere. I know I wouldn't be insulted if you bid on something I posted. Good for you for getting it rolling!
I don't participate because I can't afford to get into a bidding war. I have bought things like One Stringer donations but they are a fixed price.
I saw a fantastic gesture a couple years ago. Several items went to near the last day with zero bids.
One fine gentleman bid $5 on each item just to get them up to the top and generate some activity on them.
In the end I believe he did win some of them. He was not trying to low bid anything, just help the cause and raise money for the charity.
A very honorable gesture indeed.
If someone gets upset bidding on these things, I really wouldn't have much for them. Besides, i think it was Terry that said, you probably should have bid to win it the first time.
To much thinking/worrying spoils a good thing. bid all you can afford on all you want to bid on and feel good knowing its for a good cause. If someone gets mad they have missed the boat by a mile.RC
I bid on a longbow a couple years ago, early on just to bump it up, figuring it would keep going up. I waited all week and got to keep it. Great bow too.
Keep bidding, good luck.
I'll send a box of tissues to the 1st fella that gets offended by the ribbing and bidding. Its all for a cause and I have never seen someone take offense to the St. Judes shenanigans.
Insult away!
Anyone who feels insulted by a bid on an item to raise money for a children's hospital, well...

Yep. Have fun!
X2!
It's all about helping others!!
There are no friends in an Auction.....LOL, ;) bid till you can't bid no more, IT'S FOR SOME GREAT KIDS WHO CAN ALL USE OUR HELP!!
just dont out bid me ;) :p
If someone gets upset, they truly are not seeing the big picture.
The last week has really put everything into perspective. Wife's Grandma passed away. Just got back from sharing a late season turkey camp with a gentleman whose daughter was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a couple weeks ago at age 28! Another good friend was diagnosed with cancer last Monday.
BID, have fun, don't take it too serious. It is all for a good cause.
CRS has the right attitude.

Don't bid just send money
I say bid away, all bids are gonna start low that's the fun part of auctions to watch them climb. And I in the end if you win cool if not then send money cash donation if you want, after all its for the kids.
What RC said.
It's an auction, that's how it works. But this is more than that, it's about sick kids and helping them out.
It's a Fund Raiser for a good cause. Bid what you can afford or donate what you can for others to bid on.
It's a good thing... :)
Yeah....no need to lose sight of the cause...to raise money for sick kids.
Its NOT about YOU, its about THEM....YOU are suppose to have FUN while helping the effort.
Its ALL about the kids....the rest is just fun and games. :campfire:
