Title: Cheapo feather fletching
Post by: Bpaul on January 19, 2007, 11:05:00 AM
Looking to make squirrel/rabbit/bird arrows, and I want to make them on the cheap.  So far I've sourced everything but the fletching.

Anyone have suggestions for ultra cheap feather fletching?

Thanks ahead of time.

ps:  not precut or anything, just decent feathers for slapping onto arrows and shaping with scissors.

You can buy feathers from Rainbow Feathers in Las Vegas pretty cheap. They're not the best, but for your purposes they should be OK. Also, you can buy full length feathers of excellent quality from just about anyone, and get three 3" sections from each. Just glue them on and go shooting. No need to trim.

You could get some funky colors from the craft store. You would have to strip-em though
