I've been looking forward to opening day since 1966 and I STILL get so worked up I can't sleep for days before. I love whitetails and what they've done to me.
:)
I'm the same way! When i don't get excited anymore I'll probably stop.
I slept a lot longer than you this morning Biggie. I made it until 3:45
I made it until 7:00 and there's a buck in the front yard :goldtooth:
They say as ya get older the less ya sleep,LOL.
Danny
Yea, I used to be able to sleep until 9 :biglaugh:
Thats a very bad thing indeed! If anyone needs beauty sleep it's you! :goldtooth:
Almost ashamed to admit I don't get excited about it until mid to late October, even though our bow season opens in a couple days...
Anytime someone is chasing whitetails and I'm not able to, it drives me nuts. I can't sleep the night before opening day either!
-Charlie
5 weeks before I have sleepless nights
Uh Oh Mickey, next thing you know, you'll be headed out at 3:30PM for early birds dinner. :p
what i can't figure or should i say my wife can't figure is why i have no trouble getting up at 4am during hunting season but she has to all but drag me out of the bed at 7am any other time.
even then at 7am i feel tired and all groggy, but starting in October and going through December i jump right out of bed wide awake.
just one month to go....
HEHEHEEE...that's me too Rob. Drives my wife crazy. The other day she asked when opening day of deer season was (like she didn't know). She told me she wanted to get her Christmas shopping out of the way in September, because she gets "widowed" through the first of the year starting in October. Now that's a good wife...I just told her to get it out of the way while I'm elk hunting, and we'd be fine. I am unable to quote her response due to this being a family website. :)
Its 11:10 am and I cant sleep. Even took melatonin. I work 3rd shift ya know and sometimes I get into these lack of sleep ruts and go a couple weeks then crash for 14 hours on a weekend.
Cant wait for the opener here in Ahia.
Well, it's 1145 here and I can't sleep either! :banghead:
All of these bone heads I work with are makin' way too much noise! :biglaugh:
Gettin' so a fella can't even catch a good nap at work anymore! They must have forgot, we work for the government! :biglaugh:
LD
Saw a super nice buck this morning and two smaller deer. I am ready!
Its 2:00 p.m. and I cant go to sleep... :D Biggie, do you ever go hunt over at Piedmont NWR?
Man guys I am telling you that is some seriously beautiful and bountiful area up there. It would take several lifetimes to see all of it. My brother and I
will be camping up there for part of the bowhunt.
Best of all, its free!
Here's why I can't sleep. I put down some corn to see who made it through the spring and summer. They're not giants, but they're pretty nice for my farm. The time is wrong, it's really 6:46 in the morning. Those two are the two biggest of five in the bacholar group.
Season opens Saturday!!

Biggie watch two Jackie Bushman tapes and call me in the morning!
COB, That's funny, I dont care who ya are! :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Biggie ,
i usually have a 30 min nap about 4 am , last night it was 3:30 . but then i work all night LOL .
not getting wound up yet but ours starts first Monday in Oct , funny thing is my first week of holidays starts the also . :D
did get a doe tag this year so i can shoot either or
which really means a doe , last year only saw 3 spikes .buck to doe ratio is way out of wack here in New Brunswick ----- herb-- still waiting for his first with a bow
Biggie, I hear increasing the amount of mayo in your diet will help you sleep better. Atleast that's what I think this one guy once told me about the stuff...
hell 3:30 its time to get up anyhow. loyd
At 3:30 I'm eating breakfast and getting ready to hit the workout machine. Elk season starts tomorrow and this year I decided to get in shape BEFORE the season opened, instead of getting in shape as the season progressed. So far I've lost 15 pounds since Aug.1. Ya can sleep in the middle of the day when the critters do.
Biggie -- drink more bourbon! Works for me, even with bears growling around outside my tent. Dave

More Bourbon? LOL. David, I see we have more in common than our year of birth.
I can never sleep, does not matter hunting season or not!! It is worse during deer season though! :knothead: Shawn
Biggie,
You sure this isn't a side effect from your tree stand fall?? :scared:
