It seems like all I ask is questions...
Youse guys helped a lot with my question about "aggressive" R/D longbows.
Now I am hoping to find a longbow that is short - 52" or 54". I don't believe there are many bowyers making these.
I saw a 52" Wild Horse Creek Kestrel that looks great. (I wish he had a website but I do have his phone number.)
Don Dow has, unfortunately, had to stop making his 54" longbow.
Who else? I'm at a loss.
If you own a 52" or 54" "short" longbow, a pic would be great.
If you want to part with one that would be great too.
Thanks.
Bill
RER makes a sweet 54"er!! They will handle a draw to 31"s and are very fast and very quiet. OOOPs see ya said longbow. I am sure there are several bowyers out there that make them that short, I believe Shrews come that short. Shawn
Gregg Coffey of Javaman Archery builds his Inferno and Elkheart longbows in 52"-58"....short and sweet....!!
Shrew! Of course. Can't believe I forgot Shrew.
Bill
big jim makes a 54" Thunderchild.
Had not seen a Java Man. They look good.

I don't feel you would be disappointed with the Wild Horse Creek. Great bow by a great guy.
Gregg Coffey does, as others have written. Shrew and Javaman.

I asked the same question recently, and of the answers I received, the the ones that looked the most interesting (to me) were: Centaur, Java Man and Big Jim. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get one anytime soon, so if you end up deciding on one, please post about your experience (with pics), so I can make a more informed decision when my time finally comes! Hope this helps, Tony.
I have a 52" Don Dow Stic. It is a pleasure to shoot and very shock free. It is however not as consistent as shooting a longer LB. If you call Don he may have a few 54" stock bows left, he isn't doing custom orders any more. I have the last 52"er he made.
Mad Dog Bows Prairie Predator from 52" to 60" (I believe).
Jack Kempfs " Little Grizzly",super smooth, never see one for sale. He makes them from 48" to 62" ! Just Awesome!
Maddog, He has even made them as short as 49" for me, but I have a 26" draw. I think I have 7 or 8 Maddog longbows that are 54" or under(lost count, lol)
Great bows.

:campfire: God bless.
Can't go wrong with a 54" Thunderchild by Big Jim. Great shooters.
I have a Lost Creek 54" NAT that I absolutely love. Great bows and Chad is the best guy to deal with. Sponsor here.
thanks, James. I forgot that he made them that short.
I never should have sold a 56" of his. that was a fine bow.
