Ken Denton died this morning. Ken loved TradGang, as it is a fraternity of honorable men, and ethical traditional bowhunters. His wife of 54 years, Phyllis Ann, asked me to let TradGang know of his passing. He had been fighting esophageal cancer since February. He was my father in law, and profoundly inspiring. Some among us are more than men, they are giants; the prototypes for us to aspire to. Ken was one of the giants.

Hate to hear it. I had similar cancer but up a bit higher, so I know that fight. I was one of the fortunate survivors. The battle is tough, and there are many who die fighting. The family is in my prayers.

I'm saddened by the passing of Ken. Just a month and a half ago I sold him a Meland Pronghorn that was in a weight he could handle while he was undergoing treatment. My favorite pair of Leica's came courtesy of Ken. He was a gentleman, and will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.

My prayers for the family! He was truly an honorable man.

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and prayers. I've seen those prayers answered as my wife, Jill, finds comfort in the memories of her father. Something I like to remember is the joy Ken got out of watching Jill and I's daughter, Ava, shoot her bow; a Tim Meigs "Super Bow" that he gave her. Ava can really send them out there, and Ken would laugh every time! He loved Ava so much. I've had to look several times for these photos of Ken watching Ava shoot, but I finally found them.

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
