Title: WhoooHooo! Just got a call from..
Post by: JINKSTER on May 09, 2013, 06:46:00 PM
Steve Jewett...owner/bowyer of Bushmen Bows...and he's done re-working my 64" Hybrid R/D Bushmen "American Native"..where he..

1. Custom fit the grip to my hand and re-shaped to my liking.

2. Trimmed the riser window in too...very near cut-on-center.

3. Reduced the weight from 43#s too 37#s just by trapping the limbs. (now it's the same weight as my Super Kodiak @ 28"s)

4. Re-tillered it from "Zero Tiller" too "5/16ths Positive" for a better feeling 3under state-of-tune.

(At which point?..He then had me drive up and shoot it 2 weeks ago to critic and greenlight the mods before)

5. Completely refinishing the bow w/ clear 2 part high gloss epoxy.

Cost for the above?..he told me he'd do all that for $150...but for what he did?...and me being so happy with what he achieved after me test shooting it?..i told him $200 sounds a little more fair...and we both knew that and he thanked me...then he also suggested I allow him to make me a new custom string out of this "Rhino" material (he claims they use primarily for X-bows) that he really likes as it has an incredibly high tensil strength and yields a very low stretch especially the way he makes them...I asked him how much..he said $20...I said okay then...i'll take two.  :)

and he's even nailing me for $5 for a new calves hair rest...which I don't understand cause the old one only had about 20-25,000 shots across it and still had at least three dozen hairs left on it...LOL!...but whatever...total for these few mods, two new custom strings and a new rest?..

$245...and happy to pay it!  :)

Hats off to Steve Jewett and Bushmen Bows!
