My problems were ALWAYS with UPS not the Post Office. Like you, UPS once delivered a package to me with nothing in it. UPS also delivered a bow to me 3 pieces....to bad it a was a one piece recurve. Pack em' well boys....

Not typical of the USPS. Always over-do it on packing this stuff. Boxes just don't offer much resistance to damage or theft. I like to go with tube within a tube myself and use the filament strapping tape, and lots of it! Insure it!!!!

For me -
1 piece bows: PVC or carpet tube
Take downs: Boxes

PVC is the best for 1 piece longbows.  It might be kind of spendy for 1 piece recurves though due to the size needed.

I totally agree with Tom about boxes.  I've received 2 longbows this year that took a beating (USPS).  The boxes were bent & smashed so bad I was afraid to open them.  Even if it's insured it can take a while to get your money.
