I posted some pictures of my bow that Ed Kincade made for me a few weeks back and after seeing it I thought I would have him use the rest of the Koa wood that I got when I was in Hawaii earlier this year. I decided that I would have one built for my brother and give him the gift of his first trad bow. He enjoys shooting mine when we're together but always had an excuse for not getting one. The biggest and one I can't argue with is that he has two young children and of course their needs always come first. But be that as it may he did always make an excuse for not getting one. So when I planned on having this bow built for him I thought a name on the bow would be fitting so I decided to name her "No Excuses". This is a pic that the bowyer sent me with her first coat of finish. The main wood is of course Koa with the stripe and half moon being Cocobolo, the back tips are African Black wood and the front tips are Cocobolo . The limbs are the same as mine which is Makore Spalted Beeswing. (http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/ac304/klausdawg/3.jpg) (http://s910.photobucket.com/user/klausdawg/media/3.jpg.html)

The bows are due to be delivered tomorrow and my brother is coming to visit this weekend so I hope to post better pics sometime early next week. Lots of tuning to do before my brother gets here!
