Title: using seal skin
Post by: petalumapete on May 03, 2013, 12:17:00 AM
I have an American Leather Full Shot glove that I've just about wore out.

I like the glove and started taping my finger tips to keep them fron getting sore when I shoot.

I have a couple of scraps of seal fur lying around and am thinking about cutting it into strips and glueing it to the fingers of my glove.

Has anyone tried this?
Ideas or feed back?

ED at ABS used to sell seal skin tabs till his arrangement with the native population who could deal with sealskin went kaput.  Don't remember any gloves, but memory isn't my strong suite as I age!  :)  Cordovan is on the gloves I have used for 20+ yrs.

Just be sure to glue sealskin on with the hair in the right direction!        :bigsmyl:

Thank's for the advise Doc,
I think I'll try it . If it doesn't work I guess I'll just have to tape the old pinkie's for a while or break down and buy a new glove.
