I have a pair of cheap ratchet shears that I used last season for blinds, shooting lanes etc. While they worked well enough to get me hooked on using them, the pair I have will likely not last another season due to the cheaper construction. Looking for what others have used and liked. Would prefer to buy quality this time and have a pair that will last several seasons.
Any suggestions???

Are you're talking about the pruners you hold in one hand rather than limb loppers that require two hands to use?
If so, the hand held pruners you use in one hand are very useful... Here's what I found. I have a set of Flor----, and didn't think much of them. But, like you, did like the concept. One day when I was in an Ace Hardware I saw a set of Corona made ratchet pruners that are twice the quality of the others.. The Corona's are the real deal. Look for them, they are worth the effort. I bet you can buy them online. What's even better, they were less than $20, in fact, almost half the cost of the others and easily twice as good.. They impressed me so much I have several pair of them now...
Pruners, something I can keep in a day pack for scouting or even during hunting season.
Thanks for the heads up on the Corona's will do a search for them.
Corona Ratchet pruners.
Just saw them on Amaz--- for $12.47.
These are great pruners and a great price !!
Get a couple of pair, at least, your wife will want a pair too... They beat the others by a WIDE margin..
Florian are the best I've owned, they also have a lifetime warranty.
That being said, looks like I'm going to have to try a set of Coronas. I have a Corona folding pruning saw and it is excellent quality, I didn't know they make ratchet cut pruners.
I second the Florian brand!
X3 Florian brand!
I've have both brands. Unless I got the worst of one and the best of the other there's absolutely no contest..
Lee Valley carry the Felco brand.
There's a #13 that's about ideal for most of what you want to do, I bet. 10 1/2" long with a 2" blade. You can put some major torque on it. Pricey at $62.50 here in Canada, but first class all the way. A spare blade and replacement spring are good insurance. They make a nice belt holster as well.
I've got you up to about $100.00 now...
I have both Florian and EZ KUT. I like the EZ CUT a lot better.

E-Z cut are by far the best I've used . I bought mine last year at Denton Hill for $20.00 & it came with a extra blade.
I've had a set of the EZ-Cut for several years and they have worked and held up great for me and I use them a lot. I still have the extra blade that came with them. They are in my pack every time I go out and often end up in my pocket.
You can never have too many clippers. For just sneaking around I have a lighter pair of Fiskars for cutting that branch, cactus, palmetto or whatever that might be in the way during a sneak. But in my pack for a sit I have a heavier Titanium Fiskars ratchet pair that cuts some pretty fair size limbs with ease.
X2 for the Fiskars
