Hey fellas posted a few previous Douglas fir questions in a previous thread. But I was hoping to have. Some clarification. I will be recieving an omega long bow in about a week and would like to make up some woodies for it. Have to be carefull about cash so I am gonna start with a dozen. This bow is a reflex deflex long bow designed to shoot a 400 grain arrow at 195 and a 500 grn arrow at 180. It is 50lb at 28 with my draw being 27. It is cut to center, 62 inches, and a brace height between 5 1/2-7. Looking to use a 150 grain head and 5 inch fletch. Think 50-55 will work or should I up it to 55-60? Or even higher? Thanks again for helping a newbie out lotta of super cool guys here.
The 55/60's should work for you.
My figures show 58 lb for a 28" BOP arrow. 55/59 should work, the worst you will need to do is build the side plate out just a bit. You could also go up to a 60/64 and paper tune the length until they bullet holes. Either way will work just fine.
