Well, I finally finished my turkey fan mount. This was my first turkey so I wanted to personalize with the mounting of the fan. I cut two pieces of poplar into half moons and cut a spacer strip to sandwich between them along the bottom. Drilled pilots from back to front and through the spacer. I drew and burned the strutter into the wood and should have done a beter job with the date and #1, but I'm okay with it.
The beard is leather wrapped and attached by a wood screw with a beman classic sleeve.

That's a great tribute to your number 1. Well done.

Thanks guys! I couldn't figure out what to do with the beard forever, not wanting to sow the actual cured skin. Then it hit me- a lot of the commercial mounts incorporate a shotgun shell, so why not a piece of an arrow for mine? I almost drilled out a big hole to put an insert in to screw a broadhead into it, but with kids and the unknowing, better safe than sorry.
Yes good job. I like it.
Sweet, great job!
 Nice
