After hunting with Bear TD collector, Rod Schaeffer, talking to several other owners, and searching for a TD...I ordered the last Bubinga B riser with red stripe that Big Jim had. I had him add a pair of #1 limbs and a string to the order.
As I understand it, the red stripe was a mistake by Bear Archery, and should have been white for production year 2013. Maybe I've got a Ltd edition collector's item, but no matter.
The important thing is, I've got a beautiful and sweet shooting 60"Kodiak Take Down.
I'm recovering from hernia surgery just now, so I had a buddy come by and string it for me so I could prop it up in the corner of the bedroom and admire it.
Are all you other collectors, owners, shooters of Fred's favorite this crazy too?
Can't say as I blame ya!

Look for an article in Traditional Bowhunter about our Florida hog hunts written by Billy Berger.

I have the A riser and the B riser and quiet found of both and just picked up a new 59 Kodiak from Big Jim I really like the new Bears have a hard time deciding which one to shoot.
The red stripe wasn't a limited edition. All the 2012 and 2013 Bubinga and Dymondwood risers have red stripes. Big Jim did have some risers that had red overlays instead of white but I believe they are long gone. But you do have one heck of a bow. I have a B riser in Bubinga also and love it.
Pictures dang it... :bigsmyl: ;)
OK Thanks for the clarification. Everyone I talk to says they really like them. amazing the design would still serve us well today.
I guarantee you no one props up a training wheeel bow in the corner to admire it!
Glad you like it Irv. I'll bet you're dying to shoot it!
Some day I will own a Bear T/D. Congrats on your new bow!
Hey Irv, I'd try it out for ya, but I'm sidelined too!!
How in the world did you break 5 ribs, Sean?
There goes the bear hunt.
Nice of you to let someone use your deposit.
I can't go this year either.
