Title: adjusting brace height
Post by: Gene R on April 26, 2013, 11:19:00 AM
Hi Guys, I have a question I am sure will be elementary to you all. I have never owned a bow with a continos loop[ string. I have just gotten a used Saulki Ibex and the brace height I think is a little low on it. Do you twist the ends to make the string shorter just like you would a regular sting? The Saluki is an amazingly fast bow, but it has some noise to it and I checked the brace height is only around 6 inches, I think would quiet down some at 7. Sure appreciate your response! Thank you, Gene

A few twists will do the job.

Yes, twist just the same. Regardless of string type a shorter string will always result in a higher brace and vice versa.

Twist from the bottom.

No problem with twisting a continuous loop string.  However, you're going to have to twist it an awful lot to increase the brace height by an inch.  May need to buy a shorter string.
