I had some issues between my bowstring and a backpack shoulder strap so I decided I want to give the fanny pack a try. But here is the problem: I have a large belly and, to put it politely, no hips.
What is the best fanny pack out there that I won't have to pick up off the ground every time it falls down my legs? Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Bison Gear packs are really good, but yu'd still have the shoulder strap issue.
I've enjoyed my Fieldline with the shoulder straps. The straps are just nylon and may not cause you any problem like a thicker daypack strap. The straps are removeable for a short jaunt to your stand, or keep them on for a day of still hunting. There are compression straps on the pack, I mainly use those to strap on my top layer when it get's warm. The Fieldline come with the 90 degree accessory clip on things, for a bino pouch or water bottle. The price was pretty good at wally world 3 years ago. I'm using it in this picture, doesn't show it well but you can see the straps that keep if from sliding down stay out of the way, and it is even loaded with a wool jacket strapped to it. I use this far more than my day pack for pig hunting and other still hunting. I even made clips so I can hook my Torges Tree Seat to it. steve

Portman,,,,I've had pretty good luck with a Badlands monster fanny (1100 cubic inches) connected to a camel back hydration system. Thin staps, fair amount of cargo capcity, plenty of water.
Check out the Kelty Elkhorn 675. It's big enough for just enough gear for being out in the woods all day. It has a blaze orange raincover that is nice for when you are dragging deer out of public land. The best part I like is the clips for your binoculars. Cool pack for a pretty good price.

Rocky Mountain Pack Systems makes several nice fanny packs that I have had good luck with.

Ron you should take a look at the Bison Gear. even though it has shoulder straps it has a chest strap that hold the two shoulder straps tight to your chest. i have had my Bison pack for almost 5 years and it looks as good as the day i bought it. super quality and whisper quiet.
