That's what it's all about! Story please.
Dude that thing is HUGE! Details?
Over the past couple of yrs my good buddy JD Lund of Whisperstick Bows has been heading north to MN to chase whitetails with me. All of the spots we hunt are tight thick cover either on the ground or in the tree. The tree that this deer was shot out of literally looks like a ground blind 15 ft off the ground....a thick dense spruce that seems to have been made just for a bowhunter. I dont even have a stand hung in it. You sit on a branch and lean against the tree and theres a branch to rest your feet on too. Its like a nest up there, I'll have to get some pics of it.
Back to the bow....the Recon47. Shes 47 inches of super smooth, deadly quick deer killin stealth bow. The bow in the pic is a 2pc with a slick t/d system of JD's design.
A few weeks prior to the hunt Jim told me he had an idea brewing for a short ambush style bow. Then he showed up with this little black glass osage beauty. I wont pretend to understand how this bow can be smooth and honestly i dont care. What i do know is that under 20yds or less this is an incredible hunting tool made for a specific application....chasing game in thick cover. No joke, this little stick is smooooth. The best i can describe it is that the draw cycle feels like your stretching a spring and at 28" it doesnt feel like she wants to stop!!
That's a huge Buck! :bigsmyl:
Nice Minnesota buck, love the dark antlers...
Neat little bow.... Keep it coming
Close ups on the bow! Looks like a good one.
oh yeah! Sweet buck, and that bow looks like a beauty.
Cool bow, great buck! Congrats, thanks for sharing.
Boy, what a great picture! I love those dark antlers! We do need a story and more details on that cool looking bow. Congratulations on a whopper of a Minnesota buck!

Nice one....... Is this the result from the Kayak Hunt and the old timers tips?
That is a beast of a buck! Congrats and cool little bow.
Nice bow...excellent results
That a nice bow do you have a pic of her broken down
Is the Recon47 a standard offering from JD or was your bow a prototype. I didn't see it on his web site?
What a whopper thxs for sharing!!
Nice looking little bow, and WOW what a buck! Congratulations
Pete you are a big buck killing machine.
JD shot this deer. This bow was prototype #1...she is only 43# at 28". I was a bit nervous with that weight as the deer can grow big up here, but after i shot the bow i knew there was no need for concerns...shes a screamer. This one here is made from some awesome osage taken from Josh Sowerby's (Oliver Stacy strings)family farm. It reminds me of an ultra lite fly rod made for sneaking up on secluded brook trout pools, an absolute blast to shoot! I will get a few more pics up in a bit.
Ron, different spot than the kayak hunt. I know, im long over due to wrap that story up. Seeing that we still have over a foot of snow and cabin fever has struck hard i might just have to do that.
Burnsie, its going to be a standard bow in Jims line up.
Love the limb profile and nice buck...

A few more pics....the view from the stand shows the spot where JD shot the deer.
The bottom pic is the Recon47 next to his 56" mojostick.
A pic of JD and his deer... big big body!!
The rack in my right hand also came from this spot, it was a great yr!
I want one (bow and buck like that both) :clapper: :clapper:
Pete what's the story on the other two bucks
Wow

Most-excellent!
Shoot straight, Shinken
:archer2:
When I first looked at the post and pic I thought hay a JD bow, but then looked closer and thought no I guess not too short in the riser and curve on the limbs look a little different. Guess I was right or is that wrong? :readit:
Very nice on all accounts!!
NICE! I'll take one of bows, but with a dual self. Sometimes sitting in swamp I'm not sue what direction they'll be commin from.
That is a serious amount of bone in the one pict. Looks like great country! Congrats to both of you.
Looks like your testing was a success! :clapper:
Would be interested to know about max draw length and seeing pics of the take-down system.
Sweet little bow and a heck of a fall you guys had!

WOW Pete, We have some big deer in Pa. but.....Those Bucks are huge!!!!!!!Awesome little bow you have there.......Bobby
Great buck and nice looking bow!
I shot the bow before he turned it into a T/D and with a high wrist it really shot nice. He was stacking arrows in the target at 20 yds like he couldn't miss. He's taking it elk hunting this yr, a new one 55# this time!
Just a teaser! Going to have a product review on Recon47 and Recon49 coming soon!

Where's the review? I got a 47"er coming to me pretty soon. Should be a sweet little stick..
Life keeps getting in the way! I've got a long weekend to work on it. Hopefully will have posted up before weekend is over.
If it ever stops raining, I'll be out shooting the Recon47 myself.
Sweet little recurve!
