I read the how to on building bamboo arrows from Home Depot garden stakes. This was my first attempt without having a big enough taper tool to glue on nocks and points. My buddy had an idea to use an aluminum footing with an insert already installed. I ended up collaring the end of the arrow as well. I have a bunch of other shafts that are ready to finish and I will post some pics when im done.

Dang, tthat's awesome. How do you get the correct spine and so many?
Wow.. interesting. Please post some feedback as to how they hold up?! looks very interesting! Thanks, Jim
That original arrow was kind of a DUD. When drilling the end to install a wooden dowel it cracked on me and I had to make it a lot shorter then what I had originally intended. I will use the method to spine the arrows that was outlined in the how to when i find an arrow that works out of one of my bows. I recently purchased some of the stakes that are died green and they seem to be a lot straighter then some of the others that I bought. The footing on the arrow seems to definitely be working at reinforcing the end. I very rarely EVER miss anything im aiming at ( ) but that arrow has already seen some hard surfaces and come out just fine. I like how these arrows weigh up too. A finished arrow can range from 600-750 grains easily!! Im having more fun then anything building these arrows and am looking forward to try and use one on a turkey this year. I will post some more pics as I get some more arrows together.
When you need to drill out cane/bamboo, put a few wraps of masking tape around the ends and it will not split out on you.

That buddy of yours must be one smart guy! :biglaugh: That arrow actually shoots as good or better than some of my best tuned carbons and that's even with a crooked nock glued on   :archer2:
I was just getting out of the shower when I spotted this old girl across the street. She actually busted me and ran for her hole, but for some reason the hole was occupied and i heard some squealing and growling. Needless to say she didnt find a second hole.
I actually thought about doing that stretcher but didnt go thru with it, I will def try that now. Hedgerow is right...when gluing the nock on I didnt check my alignment and its not the best, but the arrow still performs beautifully as you can see.
