I was watching them last night on the Valiant Maid boat. He hunted with a guy named something like Bob Munger ?? [spell]
I think that guy is still around ?
I think he has passed, but I read somewhere that if Mr.Bear had to choose someone to hunt with, he was the guy.
Yes Bob Munger from Charlotte, MI. Mr. Munger owned a hardware store there. He had to cut part of the second floors floor out to get his Polar bear and Brown bear mounts in the window. I was a teen ager then ( early 60's ). I was impressed to be sure.
He also wrote a book entitled "Trailing a Bear" very good read. Munger filmed a lot of Fred's hunts and tells the stories from a decidedly different perspective.
Theres an interveiw with him on the Bonus section of Primal Encounters, its pretty cool.

One of the best books written about Fred.

Interview was with Ed Bildeback not Bob Munger. Bilderback was the Valiant maids captain.
Was it Bob Munger's Brown Bear that stood in Anderson Archery in Grand Ledge? Its been closed for over 10 years but I remember a Polar Bear and a big Brown Bear.
Trailing A Bear was indeed a great read!! I would love to find a copy!! Shawn
ah Sir, I stand corrected!!
