My new BW PLIII arrived last week, and after a weekend of stump shooting, I can honestly say it's a shooter. 43#@28" (my draw) and 60" long, the perfect bow for me. Then I went and booked a Sika Hunt with DOA Outfitters in Maryland for October, hope to christen the Widow there. I am overcome with happiness and anticipation!
nice. . . good luck on that trip. That should be a great time.
Shoot straight

Good luck and enjoy. The anticipation will probably be almost as good as the hunt!
huntryx, good for you. The PL sounds like it should work great on the Sika Hunt with DOA. Time to practice. Good luck.

Best of luck in Oct., don't forget to savor the time you spend in preparation and anticipation.
Thanks folks-- I plan to enjoy every second of it! By the way, I have had 5 Widows at this point, and this is the best of all.
Best of luck on your hunt Susan  Give the new B.W. a little mojo :archer2:
Can I assume there will be pics of a successful hunt and the bow?
Good for you....I hope it's a great hunt!!
There will be photos, successful or not.
Sika's are fun to hunt and you will love it but wear some good skeeter proof material and bug spray...I live in Dorchester co. about 20 mins from Blackwater and there are a few Maryland boys that hunt Trad that time and the rut is in Oct. for Sikas... There is public land there to but Private is much better if you can find some.. I have a few friends down there and one is Steve Kendrot and he will sometimes chime in and help ya figure out where and when to hunt...Yohan is another expert on the Sika's but don't let him know I told ya that cause his head will swell twice the size it is now and well I'll leave it at that..... :p Oh and don't wear High heels or tennis shoes but take some Knee boots...
best of luck :wavey:
Go gittum Susan.We expect pics!
:clapper:
Congrats Susan sounds like ya got a keeper
I am so happy for you Susan!!Goodluck on the hunt!
Let there be pics and let there be blood...
Susan,
Go get em. :bigsmyl:
Ditto. Congratulations! Shoot straight.
Great bow and great animal to pursue. I've hunted Sika a bunch with some other weapons, hopefully this year I'll get drawn for the bowhunt at Chincoteague.
Didn't get to go last year due to Superstorm Sandy.
Got any photos of your BW?
Good luck Susan. I hope to hunt those critters one day and would like to hear your feedback as a newbie sika huntryx ;) .
I hear they make great table fare.
Actually I am only a semi newbie. I went DIY last year to Blackwater and it was a gas! I called in a nice "stag" the first night but no shot. Should've taken my climber--. There weren't even a lot of skeeters as it had been a dry year. The vegetation and terrain were very new to me, as were the musical Sika sounds. I see this as an "old lady's elk hunt", much more managable size.....figured I'd get some help this time! I did have some contact with Steve Kendrot but it was only after the end of my time there that I realized he was at Blackwater. Oh well more to come. :D
Awesome.
It's always nice to find the right bow, congratulations.
Good deal Susan. I am looking forward to the stories.
Hi Susan,
You might remember I bought your old bow...a Jim Reynolds Thunderstick Mag some years ago.
I remember you kinda wished you hadn't sold it.
You might find comfort in knowing that my 15 year old Grandson, Luke shoots it quite well here in WI.
I'm glad you like your new Widow and hope to see your story of the hunt here later.
Good Luck and thanks for the bow...it's in good hands.
If you are really sentimental about your Mag, Luke would let you have it back someday, I'm sure.It still has your name on it.
