Just today I won a dozen Easton Lightspeed shafts with inserts and nocks all packaged up. Great timing, too, as my boy and I lost 4 of our GT 35/55 XT's this weekend at the 3D shoot were I won the raffle. Here is my quandry:
The GT 35/55's are 7.4 grains per inch, Spined at .480,
the Easton Lighspeed's are 7.4 grains per inch, Deflection per Inch of .400.
Are the two designations, Spined and Deflection per Inch one and the same?
Are the Eastons a lighter spined arrow than the GT's causing the flight charactoristics to be totally different?
Would I be better served to trade these shafts for 35/55's?
BTW, I am shooting a laminated Martin LB of 50# @28". Thanks, Christopher.
your gold tips are spined for a 30 to 50 lb bow..
chart here http://www.huntersfriend.com/arrowhelp/gold-tip-arrow-spine-chart.htm
your eastons would have a spine weight close to 72.5 lbs.
Shoot the eastons and see what you think...They may be just right
You can probably shoot them by useing heavier points. If you can trade them and know the GTs work well I would just do that.jmo
Both of those shafts are measured the same way. The Easton arrows are stiffer than the GTs and would take a lot of weight up front to work.
You would be better off trading for the 35/55s.
Thank you, Gentlemen, for the helpful information.
