I have owned all length longbows but 66 and 64 are my favorite , I want a 62 inch I have ordered , but 66 's just shoot right ....so what longbow is ur fav...and why ...66 longbows rule!! :)
:wavey: Longbows Rule!
66" Mahantango Longbow hopefully moving to a 68" in the future!
Longbows are the best :archer:
66" Howard Hill Big Five 64" Howard Hill Redman.
Ya'll keep it up and I'm going after you for trademark infringement! :knothead:
A 66" has been my favorite for several years now, in a longbow. Like my 72" selfbow too.
The design makes a difference, but for me the 66" I shoot seems to be just right--smooth, stable, forgiving--and I need all the help I can help.

66" or 68' is all I have
I'll be shooting my 66" Horne Combo-Hunter longbow this year. This length just feels right. This is my first 66" bow, and I love it!!!! I'll probably be trading one of my 62" recurves, or my 62" longbow for another 66" longbow. Why? Just to have a back up. :)
shot a 66 in DG Albright for about 10 years, very smooth and fast, the length is no issue at all in a stand..
Been shooting 66" for years. All my Leon Stewart longbows have been 66".
Ron
Never shot over 60", until recently.
I got a 66" PLV, and man it shoots awsome.
But never having hunted with over 60", I'm a little concerned about the extra length. Please reasure me, someone.
Mark, Why did you order a 62" when 66" is your fave?
I keep going back to the 66" straight longbow of my own making, I am more accurate with it than any of the others.
I do however really like my 52" flatbow as well.
Regards, Bert.
I am now trying to see which I like better 62 assienhimer or 66 long bow. I recentally aquired a 66 Green Mountain and have a 66 Stewart that shoots very smooth. I will hunt with both this year. Decisions decisions :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
66" Mississippi Lake Long bow (Jim Godden, bowyer)
Works for me.
66" Robertson Mystical will be the one this year, got a 66" Vision being built but probably wont make it for hunting season.
Longbows...whats not to like!
Eric
66" Seven Lakes longbow
Old Asbell ramhunter 66"; shot longer and shorter Bighorns but the 66'er just seems to perform the smoothest.............Shick
68" Black Widow LAG
66" ACS-CX
Long bows rule!
66" Ben Pearson #966, 50# @28", my sentimental favorite, and a 62" Martin Savannah, because I shoot it well. I own the odd recurve, but I really like longbows
RonP
66" Dwyer's Leland
It seems no matter what, I come back to a 66" bow for some reason. I shoot all the bows I build and built a 62" for myself. I enjoyed it but seemed that the 66" bow is the one I grab whether it is a take-down or one piece, I just seem to like that length best!!!!!!!

The best bow that I've ever made was a 66" hickory backed ipe in an pseudo-ELB style. It will likely be my deer hunting bow this fall.
66" ACS-CX
66" Self Bow (Eric Krewson)
66" Harrelson
64" ACS-CX
64" Turkey Creek
64" Harrelson
62" Harrelson
64" & 66" Definitely are my favorites.
First year traditional, using a 68" CheckMate Crusader. Have a 'curve too, but just seem to keep going back to that LB.
Yes, "Long Bows Rule" (Chad, you will get your royalty payment....)

Guru, I ordered it for the "Double BUll" in that blind ...besides I really like the bowyer , :)and I dream of shooting a short longbow with no finger pinch are stacking..mmmm
66" 21st Century 21st Edge... very sweet!!
I like a 64'' take-down because it fits in my travel case.......stabow
I'll be doing some hunting this year with a 66" PLX t/d.I'm normally a recurve shooter but this bow shoots very well for me
66" r/d for me of my own make. Long enough for stability and smoothness of draw yet short enough to get through the brush sufficiently.
I recently got a 66" Jay St. Charles Pacfic Yew Classic and man i love this bow. Like Mmgrode said it is....."Long enough for stability and smoothness of draw yet short enough to get through the brush sufficiently"
Two weeks ago I was able to sneak up to within 10 feet of a sleeping boar with it!!!
Have hunted mostly with recurves, but this will be my first season with a LONG bow.
66" Fox LB.
Smooth as silk and very stable.
66" Yellowstone Longbow for me.
what are most of the draw lengths with these 66" bows?
The longer the more for giving and smoother to pull, I shoot 62", 64", 66", and one 68", all are 28" draw I draw around 27". also they are all around #50 to #56.
I have a 26" draw and my 3 go to bows (in any order)are listed below. All are at 50 to 51Lbs and seem to like 27.5" Easton 1916 Legacys with 100 grains. The two longbows also like 1816's and the recurve shoots 2016's nicely also.
58" Great plains SR SWift
66" Deathwish
66" Chekmate Crusader
I shoot a 68" longbow I made myself. I pull 63# at 29" and it throws a 2219 with authority. I don't have any problem with manueverability. I figure if I can get through the brush then my bow can.
66" Morrison. 83# @ 29.5"
Josh
I FEEL like the longer bows give me better cast with my 32" draw. Most of my longbows are 66" but I prefer the 68" bows. I asked Jerry Brumm to make me a 70"er. We're working out the details now.
I got a 66in Horne Traditionalist that I'm gonna give a whirl this hunting season. It's the only longbow I've ever tried that I can shoot well. I'm sure the unique grip has something to with it!
I have shot shorter longbows but my 66" Wes Wallace Royal seems to be a nice length for me. I just ordered a 68" Royal, looking forward to seeing the difference, if any.
