It worked, good job!
Come on we need the story PLEASE
Well ... Squirrel Bait gave me his southern draw advice "If you want to see pigs you have to go where the pigs are, If you don't go where the pigs are you won't see any pigs". So I took his advice along with some good hints from Ray. Hit the nut grass field at 9:00 when the sun hits the field good and the pigs should be in there feeding. We arrived at 9:01 and half way through the field got into about 20 pigs and ... got to put some of my gear away.
nice job
Congrats!!
Thanks guys ... They were moving across the field about 30 yards out. I did some of my best
pig sounds and they turned and worked right towards me. My wind feather told me I had a slight wind coming in my face which allowed me to focus on the pigs. The first two that came into sight we two very small ones working quickly in my direction. When they were within about 10 feet three other larger pigs came into view. When the little ones where about 7 feet away I knew my luck was about to change. I picked the larger of the 3 pigs at 15 yards and shot. Pigs running every where except mine which dropped right in his tracks with no trailing required. My son who paid for my hunt was 60 yards to my left came running when the action stopped. I could not have asked for a better opportunity. Shooting the Black Widow he purchased for me. Shooting 150's with stainless Bear Razor heads. The Widow is 52 pounds and penetration was about 12 inches out the far side.
Congrats and thanks for sharing with us!
Congrats!
Being able to hunt with your dad is about as cool as it gets, but getting to watch your dad go to a different state, hunting an animal he's never hunted before, and doing it with traditional equiptment was freakin awesome! That was a million dollar hunt that I will never forget. Ray Hammond and Squirrel Bait were great host and the food was great. There was tons of pig sign all over the place and we also got to see deer, turkeys, and armidillos. The only complaint was the Boone and Crockett mosquitos they have down in those parts, I would not go down there without a Thermacell. I can't wait to go back!
You betcha, Brian!!! It wasn't archery, but!!!!
Congrats!
