I just got back from northern California where I've been introducing my brother, Dan Mecredy, to bow building. We put together a few longbows and explained to him all the fundamentals that goes in to the construction, the design, string making, finishing, etc. He'll, of course, make a few to really get the feel of it before I sell any of the ones he makes. He'll be making the Mountaineer longbow. Not any custom orders, I'll still make them, but I've asked him to make me one per week and I'll post it on the sponsor's classifieds, so keep your eye on it. It'll be a chance to get a longbow, same design as I make in my shop, in stock with no waiting.
A bit about Dan, his entire life he's been a builder, a mechanic, a finish capenter, lately he's gotten into making knives, and he's done some artistic painting. He doesn't just do those things, he's a literal master at it, although he'd never admit it. He lets his end result do the talking.
So in the coming months, perhaps weeks, the mountaineer longbow, mostly made of American hardwoods, will be made available for inediate sale. As he becomes accomplished at those I'll be sending him other forms, for other models to make as well.

Where's. He at in northern ca?
He's just a little west of Yosemite, if he gets on HWY 120 and goes east he'd get to the gate in 20 minutes. Lots of wilderness there.
I thought you said,he lived in Northern Ca?
HEHEHE!!!
it is, there's more of the state south of him than there is north of him.
Good deal Mike!
