Just received the 09-10' Hope recurve from Kenny Gettman in Washington State. For those of you who do not remember, this Ms. Hope is a Dryad Orion 58" static tip, 53# @ 28".
I look forward to stringing her up and shooting her this evening after work! I have the funny feeling that she will fit right in with rest of my "stable" of bows.
It was really interesting reading through the journal that accompanied her. Although only 10 pages filled out - it told interesting stories about the individuals who shared time with Ms. Hope and her path to my door. Although I have not had the privilege yet to participate in a Hope and Faith pass-around, I can only hope, and recommend, that such a journal be provided with each bow so that those who share their time with these specially built bows can share it with others.
Thanks to each of you for your special touch. The mojo that this bow has will be awesome  !
After I get her set up and shootin', I'll repost some photos from her new home in Virginia!
Bob,
I was fortunate enough to end up with the Faith Stalker from last year. I have to say, reading the journal was the first thing I did when I opened up the case. The history these bows have is amazing.
BTW, isn't there some law about starting a thread like this and not showing any pictures?
LOL
Ken
Bob, your killin me man, how many bows you have anyway, if your tired of shooting that Thunderchild send it on up to me, lol, look forward to seeing this one at NC.
Congrats! They are special bows, for sure!

Here are some quick pics. First 5 arrows were in the money at approx. 12 yds. Good guess on initial nock point and brace height. Only problem is that the grip (although I like the feel of it) REALLY causes the shelf to sit on close to my hand that I was bleeding like a stuck pig after these shots from my fletching.
I remembered a thread about using a cut down Bear Weather Rest, and guess what? I had one in my collection of stuff. I cut it down to sit within approx. 3/8" of the top of shelf. I readjusted my nock and then shot these 5 arrows at distances ranging from 21 - 27 steps.
Not a winning group, but not bad considering ;) ! 4 of them would have put a definite hurtin' on a hog. BTW. I named the hog decoy Raymond - in honor of that GA pig killer, Ray H :saywhat: !!

Now comes the fun of fine tuning her with the Victory VAP, 300 grain point set-up that I'm playing with!

Enjoy!
Shoot straight, Shinken

It looks good Bob.
Thanks, guys! This is my second experience with static tip recurves, and I have to admit -- I LIKE THEM :clapper: !!!
Not ready to hang up or sell off my longbows, but I think that they may get a little less attention!
