I am buying a pronghorn off a member here and its a bit more lbs than I have been shooting. It is 56@28.5" I pull 27.5 +/- my poor form. so I was thinking I will be pulling approx 53?
It also is coming with a SBD 6 strand string and all I have ever used was 16 strand strings so I have no clue what adjustments to make for that.
I am going to order up some dougfir shafts for this bow and was not sure if I should get 60-65 or 65-70's? I will be shooting 145 grains or 160 grains up front.
thanks for any help.
I suspect you'll be able to get either one of those to work by adjusting the length and point weight of the arrow. But id startbat 60-65--I think I used 60-65s out of mine, but it was a slightly higher weight than what you are pulling.
Just leave them long and make small adjustments to length is my advice.
The 60-65's should work for you if you leave the shafts 28.5" to 29" from throat of nock to back of point.
One thing you may find is your nock point may be slightly higher with the Pronghorn.. Just my experience YMMV..
Sounds good and thanks for the help. I had one before but don't recall how I had it setup and it defiantly didn't have a skinny string. I wasn't sure how much of a factor that has on arrow choice.
Thanks again!
