Title: first try at marble dipped arrows
Post by: J.T. on April 02, 2013, 07:33:00 PM
decided to try my hand at marble dipping with the second half on the woods I've been working on.  I followed the instructions in Jcar315's Mild to Wild how to thread   http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=126745

Specs on the arrows 11/32 90-95 spine Red Balau 33" von-bop from Forrester Wood Shafts, Black hen feathers with web spiced black and yellow cock feather.

three of them are ready for sping turkey with 175 grain Ace heads that I recieved from Butch Speer in the white elephant

Man I'm having fun building arrows again!

I don't know how you value your time and I would guess you have quite a bit invested. I'd say it was very well spent, though! Nice looking arrows.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Bladepeek, They did take quite alot of time but not all at once I'd work on them a little while at night after my son went to bed and then they would have to dry for a day or so.  they were fun to build and it was time well spent a whole lot better than watching tv!  I really liked what Mike Vines said in a wood arrow thread a while back "building arrows is suposed to be fun not fast" I the past I think I was in a hurry to get arrows done.

Sweet arrows!  They have turkey written all over them!  Building arrows is a great way to pass time during the winter months, just sit back and relax and let the creative juices flow. Thanks for shareing with us.

Those look really cool Jordon, the old man talk you into any for him yet? You know Mike was generous enough to make me one one of his cool creations and I should have one of yours in my shop also.   :bigsmyl:
