What do you prefer and why? Thanks. Bill
All good materials..have used all above but a D10 8strand string is awesome..alot of benefits I liked..450 has a quieter tone (6 strand) to it and the UC has a higher pitch I felt when I made a 8 strand and all these strings wore same type of silencers and all tuned from the same bow..properly padded and constructed these strings will work fine and can be very quiet but with that being said a 12 to 14 strand with padded loops and either Crown or Halo serving using 8190 is the best I found which is all I use now..have used XS2 (which is similar)but broke to many strands/strings for my taste is one material that will never go on my bows
I myself like D97 or 8125. I know someone with a big supply of D97 so have him make my strings. I just think it is quiet and works best for me. I shoot 12 strands on all my bows. Shawn
I've got a 9 strand Ultra Cam string on one of my Hill style longbows. It works great on the bow. Added some speed for sure, but the best part is how quiet it is.No "Twaaaaang" like b-50,just a quiet little "thump"I'm VERY happy with it and not going to even bother to try any other materials.I'll be putting them on more of my bows pretty soon.
For me it depends on which bow, they all can have a different tone.I use D97,8125,450+ and now 8190.I'm really like the 8190 now.A 12 strand 8190 in about the same diameter as a 8 strnad D97 and 6 strand 450+.I do pad my loops on all my skinnier strings. Can really say which one I like the best, they are all good quality string materials in my opinion.
I've only used D97 and UC. All I use now is UC. I take that back I do use D97 for padding the loops! lol
8190 here, with skinny string d97 stretched a lot and d10/astroflight fuzzed a lot. 450+ was noisier to me.
