Hey any one use bearpaw spruce shafts? Worth a dang?
What about their feathers?
I did a search and the one response was said to not actually be bearpaw just German.

Mike- If it is the ones from Kustom King I ordered a dozen to try this 3D season. Here is what I found: For the money they seem good as 3D or stump arrows as long as it is for fun. The spine is consistent but they varied from weight close to 80+ grains. Not really true to round as better Doug fur are, have some flat spots and the finish is rougher. As disposable 3D shafts they seem to fit the bill, but for hunting I will stick with surewoods for sure. Hope this helps.
Those are the ones. I was wanting to build my first wood arrows with them. Cheaper if I messed them up, Wood and I have a standing agreement - I don't try and use it.
thanks
My experience is the same as East Coast Archer, but I found the feathers to be much better than their arrow shafts.
If you want to show someone how arrow shafts should look like, don't show them these shafts.
Grain runouts, low growth ring counts etc.
The spruce is not enough slow growth to get enough growth rings. They are not premium, nor hunter but more like #2.
Bear paw feathers aren't as crisp or thick as TruFlight and it seems water gets to them quicker, but at about half the price per 100, I buy them again. They're worth it.
I don't/won't use cheap feathers.
They're nice shafts - fly well & are a little tougher than POC - not as tough as bamboo & with a bit of variation in weight - forgiving spine - M
