I've shot a tab for years and own several gloves I've used off and on. Which do you prefer? Lets see pics of your favorite. I'll post mine later today.
I've used both as well, but still prefer a glove over a tab. Right now I'm using an American Leathers Big Shot glove and like it very much
Big shot Buffalo glove.

Big shot for me as well. Never used a tab.
started with a tab switched to glove 2 yrs ago like the feel and seems to me to give me a more trad feeling but i believe i was more accurate with a tab cleaner release.but my glove i think is not broken in yet will give it another season
I have shot both using a American leather big shot now.
Tab for the last ten years or so.
I make my own mostly but am trying out a Jenkins tab.

I have used both and could continue to use either. As much as I want to like the tab, I always seem more comfortable using a glove. My release seems quicker , smoother with a tab but I seem to shoot more accurately with a glove. Over the years I guess I built some confidence up with using a glove and that is hard to give up. I am currently using a American Leather Crossover.
I have both a tab and glove. I use the tab most of the time. The only time I use the glove is when it is really cold and I need to where gloves just to shoot. The tab seems to give me a better release and therefore more accuracy. Just my opinion.
Started with glove now shoot a tab. For me it feels better.
I have used the Saunders tab for years. Can't think what it is called, its made from a plastic type of material. Work well wet or dry and last forever.
Sanders PAK tab
Cordovan three under tab. Much more accurate for me.
Have both but I use the tab 90% of the time. When I switched to the tab my release became much smoother which improved my accuracy. Oh yes, I also use a Saunders Tab.
Tab for a lot of reasons like cost, easy to get out of the way, accuracy, release and so on, but I like a glove for the anchor I get with the extra finger material. With a glove I really get a way more positive solid contact anchor shooting with my high anchor into my face.
3U Black widow super leather. Its thick and wears well.
Have used both but now only use a tab. I like the ones with a calf hair surface. They are handy to use and can simply be twisted around your hand out of the way if you need to use your hand for some task, without the likelihood of dropping it out of the tree stand. More importantly, I can wear a lightweight fleece glove and still use it, which is usually plenty good in our mild Georgia winters.
I've used both quite a bit over the years but have pretty much settled on a tab. I shoot better with it and find it more convenient whether hunting or just shooting. Mostly I'm shooting a Bateman Cordovan split finger and sometimes a Saunders Pac or Nam tab. The plastic shoots great and is especially handy when it's wet.
American leathers full shot glove for me.
I've used both, but now prefer my tab. E.W. Bateman cordovan leather tab. They are great. God bless.
I use Cavalier Elite and also Safari Tuff. The Elite is a split finger but I shoot 3 under.
I used a glove for a while but I prefer the tab for comfort and consistency.
I am currently using a Black Widow tab. I haven't found anything I like better......yet.
Another Big Shot glove user. I started out with a glove many years ago and I just prefer it.
I started with a glove but have swtiched to a tab.Tried to go back to a glove but I prefer a tab.I use a Bateman cordovan tab,Cavalier Elite cordovan and a Alaska Bowhunting cordovan tab.I prefer a tab, just love the feel and slick release.
I use either a Damascus or Deerskin glove.
Have both, but for hunting I much prefer the glove over the tab. Nice to have full control over my fingers when I need them.
Favorite glove is still the old Wolverine/Grizzly glove that Tim @ Braveheart used to sell. I've tried finding a replacement, but none I've found have that same level of feel. Hands down my favorite glove ever, and the one I hunt with is starting to show it's age. When it's gone, I'll have to either figure out how to repair it, or start all over.
I'm handy with ducktape. :D
Damascus glove for me for the past 15 years.
American Leathers Big Shot Crossover
Started out shooting with gloves, but now only use tabs. Favorites are the Cavalier Elite, and the Black Widow tabs. Just feel like I get a crisper release with a tab.
I always use a glove. It's more natural to me. I feel like a tab gets in the way too much.
Batemans Tab.
Shot a tab for years, yet persistently pursued to acquire a glove that didn't obviously degrade neither accuracy nor consistency.
Several years and seven gloves later with much disappointment, I gave the Big Shot a go. The tabs have been resting for the past several years.
Note: Still have a subtle itch to give Mr. Rod Jenkins' tab an opportunity.
This year I switched to a Saunders Pak Tab. It has a smoother release than my glove.
Eric,
I personally have had more experience with the BW 3-under calf-hair tabs, but just bought a shooting glove (Big Shot, Buffalo version) and am trying it out. Quality piece of leather!
BC
bigshot glove, just started with tabs the other day again,i think we are all to obsessive to have an accurate answer to the question!lol
I shoot a cordovan tab. Started with gloves and liked them plenty. But it seemed like they actually got a grove worn in them that affected release a tiny bit. Switched to a tab at the prompting of Dan Toelke when he was giving me a bit of coaching. Now I really like the tab with the tiny finger spacer as I shoot split.
Started with a glove in my teens, but have been using a tab for the last thirty some years.I use a cordovan leather,3 under, but would like to try a good glove one of these days.
Use both - tabs work well for me with the taller target bows & Damascus glove for the shorter hunting bow I have - adding a little talc to the tabs helps with release as does pulling thru with my back of course - M
Tab for me. Love the Fred Eichler tab from 3R's.

Me too! The Pak-Tab is broke in out of the box, impervious to water, and super slick!

I have put cordovan leather on mine, but love the PAC tab
When I get serious about shooting well right handed I use a left handed Cavalier Elite with Super Leather modified to work 2 fingers under...and when I get serious about shooting well left handed I use a right handed Cavalier Elite with Cordovan modified to work 2 fingers under...when I am less serious I use a Martin or Bearpaw glove either 2 under or split finger either right or left handed...when I am playing around I use a variety of Kant Pinch style tabs either right or left handed or the one Cavalier Elite lefty with Cordovan that I have not modified...one day, when I grow up, I will pick something and stick with it I guess
I used tabs mainly a neat super leather for years when I was shooting my compound. Still do when I shoot my compound. But for my recurve I tried the same tab and just did not feel right. That and it hurt my fingers. I bought a big shot glove and loved it up until a few years ago it grooves out and feels to bulky almost like a hockey glove. I then went to a neat calf hair glove (Rick welches choice) liked it but it hurt my fingers and the hair burned of now I use a Damascus. I know it's thin also but I think that's why it has never grooved out. And I shoot the best with it. I keep trying different tabs and gloves but alway go back to my Damascus. Which is ok with me cause they not expensive ;)

Used a bateman glove for yrs until I switchedto lefty now using a cordovan tab by eagle flight. I may try a glove again.
I like the Neet open palm shooting gloves. They wont break your wallet and their excellent quality.
I use a Fred Bear glove and have for years . I am thinking of trying an American Leathers Big Shot . Going to order one in a little while .
I shoot a black widow split tab. I do like gloves but it's too hot here most of the year for one
Love a glove, makes sense for hunting to keep your hand useful. I've tried several including a Big Shot and frankly the one I like best and use on bows as heavy as 90# is my Bearpaw black cordura glove. Great release, does not groove (the Bigshot did) and is super lightweight and breathes.
Bearpaw cordura all the way.
