I have an Abbott 58" 48# @ 28 RH LB and for the money, it's a great bow, I shoot three under, it hits where you are looking. I would spend more time with it but my newer Toelke Whip is winning my time (also 48# @ 28 but a 64").  Between the two, the whip has a better feel but I think that is due to the longer bow..  Abbott makes a fine bow though you will not be disappointed

Steve makes a great bow. They are built like tanks, shoot where you look, and have decent speed.i had three of them at one time, but i am down to one now.i found i like a long bow with a deeper grip.More like a recurve shaped grip. The only reason i stopped shooting mine is because it felt way different after shooting the different bows that i bought. If you are a guy who is happy with just one bow.The abbott will always be there and will not let you down.If you like to buy and sell bows and cant stay out of the classifieds then it will end up there with you.I have a 68in 58lb @28 that still on his sight marked sold. Its going to be up for sale here soon.i would take a few days and buy one for half the price as a new so you can see for yourself how it feels.Everyone is different.Just stay away from the classifieds and you'll be fine. And that goes for all bows.

My very first custom bow ever and l shot my first deer with it! That was back in 92 . I still have it and always will, they are built like tanks and like most bows they will last you a lifetime. Steve is a great guy . But everyone likes the feel of different bows its always best to try before you buy if possible.l don't think he would have a problem building you a bow to fit your 30" draw .

I have had 3 and am currently looking at getting #4. Great bows and a great guy building them! I have NEVER run into someone who was not thrilled with their Abbott.

All I can say is you can't have mine. It's a keeper and my number one bow.
You won't find a better person to work with either, Steve is a stand-up man.

Guy

My Abbott was my first new custom longbow. Steve's a standup guy who builds an excellent longbow. I'll never part with mine.

I just contacted Steve and will soon have my 4th one! I let one go a few years back with a cocobolo riser and yew limbs and have regretted it ever since.

This replacement will be the same wood combos but a few pounds lighter. I should be able to shoot it for a very long time.

I had an all osage that was 68" and 60@28 that was a shooter. I killed a huge and I mean huge doe with that bow. Her body was as bug as any buck I have killed.

Neat guy, super bow!  We have sold several and a bamboo model sticks in my head as smooth drawing and really pleasing to the eye.

I got home from work to find a long white tube on my back porch!

66", 47# @ 27", cocobolo riser and yew limbs. Oh my, what a beautiful bow! Definately one of the prettiest Abbott's I've seen.

I hurried up to my range and quickly set up the bow. As expected my 1916's flew perfectly. I shot my bag course, shot some stumps, and then let some fly across the hay field. It really zips and arrow. I'm already right on the money with it.

We are going to bond well this summer. I am really looking forward to hunting groundhogs.

Steve old buddy, ya done good!

I like them as well.  Very well made, and his yew is some of the best around.  If anyone's interested, I have a low 50# 68-inch Abbott I'd like to trade for a 64 or 66-inch Abbott.  Like the bow, but 68 inches is a bit long for me.
