I've been blessed by Mr. Berry.
We started talking last week and he asked if I would give him an evaluation of his personal bow,(Vixen 68" and 46@28) bamboo cores with yew lams under brown glass.
My goal is to shoot it and give him feed back.
Needless to say, I was all over that.
The bow arrived today and have to say I was impressed with his fit and finish. It's right up there with the very best of them.
The attention to detail makes for an immaculate looking bow.
The grip is..... wow! I can toss it up in the air, catch it and my hand is right where it's supposed to be.

My thoughts:
God bless,Mudd
:clapper: :archer2: have fun.
Wow Roy...what a great op!!!!
I couldn't get the video to play. Did you like her?? Is that a straight grip??
Kevin I don't know what your trouble might be with the link.
I have it playing from here right now.
It is a very slightly dished grip.
God bless,Mudd
Nice. I love a high style that has a pointy tapered grip at the belly. Keeps me from palming the grip.
Nice job Mudd. Looks like a winner too.
I see you got number three. I absolutely love my Vixen, and my Misty Dawn and soon Ill have my Morningstar from James and Im sure it will be right there with the other two. I have not shot another American Longbow that I like as much as my Berrys.
You talked about the hum in the string, and honestly I have not shot a bow yet, be it longbow, hybrid or recurve that did not have string hum without silencers. Ill tell ya from the video that bow sounds amazing. And by the sound of those arrows rubbing together, you were doing some mighty fine shooting there bud.
The grip that James puts on those bows is just amazing and they place your hand in the right spot every time.
Glad your having fun with it.
That is a great vid. I have actually had the pleasure of shooting that bow out at the Berry shop. Beautiful bow! Thanks for the review.
JW
You can realy tell that you love to shoot a bow.
Nice bow. Are you going to give it back to him.? Looks like a real shooter.
Roy glad u like the bow. Been telling ppl for 2 years that these are one of the finest american style bows out there. Like alot of the guys i cant get the vid to work though. :( on mine i put some wooll silencers about 10 inches from the string nock. All i hear is that baby slicing the air lol lookin foward to your follow up after u get er tuned in.

Enjoy!
Shoot straight, Shinken

BTW... I am now on Mr Berry's list for one of my own.
I am looking for a "hitman" to knock a few folks off just so I can move up the list...lol
Patience should be one of the better performed skills at my age and maybe it is, except when it comes to wating for bows...lol

Good on ya Mudd, you are goIng to be so stoked. I love my Berrys! So much so I off loaded all my other bows. I cannot view the vids from my iPhone but when I get down to KY I'm gonna jump on grandmas computer to check it out. Mr. Berry sure does put majic in his bows
Aloha Mudd,
I'm glad you enjoyed shooting the Vixen. I should have warned you about talking to James. Did you notice that even shooting heavy arrows the bow has a very good cast. My Vixen has the same size grip as James. I love the grip. No string hum with the heavy arrows or my hearing is going with age. You did not say if you are keeping James' Vixen & what are the specifics on the bow you are ordering. As a side note I am not giving up my position on the waiting list. Let the games begin as I still wait for my new Vixen.
Mahalo & Good Shoot'n,
George
I will "N_O_T" be keeping Mr Berry's personal bow.
When I am finished all of my trials I will be shipping it to a secret undisclosed destination....lol
I have on order Bamboo and yew with Brown glass on the front and clear on the belly so as to show off that beautiful yew with a Myrtle riser. 66" 46@28.
I might waffle on the length before glue up time.
I'd love to hear from those who have had opportunity to shoot both the 66" and the 68".
God bless,Mudd
I just got around to watching the new videos. VERY nice!!! Looks like it fits well too, I could almost smell the smoke from te campfire in Sherwood forest
The videos are great and your summery is also, but you have to do it all over again. You have the wrong hat on !, where is your RobinHood hat ?, this would make it official. :archer2:
The videos look good, ...... only the Sage did not have a "speaking part" ....?.......
I guess you really love her.
Take care of her.
She will always be missed.

..it is!
:biglaugh:
Mudd 66" should be fine for you. I'm 6'4 and thats what I'm shooting.
No video here Mudd. When I click on the picture is takes me to a site called "Mobile Photobucket" and presents a series of photos of the bow and does so for all of the videos you have on this thread.
Sorry Ron it just played for me.
Just played it with no problem.
Ron, if you are accessing from an iPhone it won't play
Brian, I am not using a iPhone. I'm using my PC. It is still the same as I stated. No videos, just takes me to a page called "Mobile Photobucket" and shows a series of photos of a bow. Am I missing something in the way of software or is it the type of video?
Ron,
The only other thing I can think of is a software, OR somehow you are on the mobile site (it says you are) so try to find the icon that says "full site" or "go to full site" . Let us know how it works
Mudd, you're getting to be a regular movie star! :bigsmyl:
Brian, I tried the full website view but it changed nothing. I'm wondering if the new photobucket setup is not the problem. I have had this problem a couple of times and that was primarily due to the type of video downloaded or I did not have the password. Thanks for the help.
Sorry I could not get it squared away for ya bud.
:wavey:  :archer2:
