It's going to happen afterall! Yesterday I purchased the tickets to Nebraska.
After doing the long search here and having a couple of invites (things didn't work out quite right) I had almost decided to cancel my plans of a Nebraska/Kansas combo turkey hunt.
But just when you least expect it, we get a call last friday looking for blems and the gentleman asked, "When is Jim going to come help me shoot some of these turkeys!"...."I've been inviting him for years".
Well, it was my long lost invite from Nebraska and oddly enough, he hadn't even seen any of the posts that I had made on the subject.
Going to be action packed even if the birds don't cooperate. Two days after coming home from the N.C. compton shoot I'll head to Nebraska for 3 days and then to Kansas for 3 days to visit my friend at Blue River Whitetails.....for turkeys that is. I'll then fly back to Atlanta where my wife and our new guy will pick me up at the airport on their way to the Tennesee Classic.
The talked about leaving me at the airport and just going to the classic without me....I'd be pi$$ed! The're just jealous.
I wonder if I have a bow to take?
Thanks for listening and all your help, bigjim
I'm pi$$ed! All i get is snow and static basement targets. :p lol.
Go get em. Good luck.
Sounds like a blast,have fun.
Good luck! Glad it worked out for you. I'll be chasing Nebraska turkeys tomorrow!
Good luck!
Bisch
Best of luck and have fun :)
Good luck and safe travels!! I would probably take a 56-58" Thunderchild around 50-55 pounds!
We have PLENTY of birds here! What part of Nebraska are you going to be in?
Good Luck Big Jim :archer2:
Don't chicken out Jim!
Good luck Jim, have a great time !!!
When you are in Nebraska chase a few of those turkeys across the river to me. I will be somewhere in the Loess Hills.
I worked for an Omaha company and we would go to Nebraska every April for a sales meeting. The weather could be 65 degrees and sunny or 25 degrees and snowing, all in the same day!!!! I hope you have decent weather.
I want to see the size of the blind you use!
I feel for you, as I am rather tall myself. Good luck.
Good luck to ya Jim. Keep us posted, of any kills. God bless.
Best of luck Jim :wavey: :clapper:
Good luck! I will be hunting a couple days myself in KS. I will be hunting April 6, 7, and 8.
Good Look! :campfire:
Sounds like a blast!!!!
With all the time you've been spending working are you sure you can still hit something :bigsmyl:
I like livin on the dangerous side :campfire:
Good Luck Jim!
You gonna be able to squeeze into one of those blind in bags things Large? Best of luck.
Good luck Big Jim!
:archer:
Nice, things have a strange way of working themselves out!! Have a great trip!! Shawn
Nice! Good luck. You seem rather excited!
Wish I had a place to do that!
(Hint to anyone reading) :saywhat:
Don't forget about stories and pics!
Surely you do have a bow, don't you? :saywhat:
Seriously, have a good time and bring home some meat.
Danny
Good luck, Jim give 'em hell!
Big Jim good luck! Are you taking the new dog to help find and hold them close for you :bigsmyl:
Go get'em Big Jim. You've earned it!
Unfortunately I won't be leaving until the 25th, but it has all been aranged and am I excited!
I have taken a eastern and osceola with my longbows and with a little luck, maybe this trip could produce the others ie. merriams and rio. A slam is not that big of a deal but it is kind of cool knowing I did it with a bow of my own make.
I won't have time to build a new bow, so I have been shooting my thunderchild and Desrt BigHorn the most lately. Will most likely bring those. They both are 81#'s and the thunder child is 58"s and D Bighorn (my new recurve)is 60"s.
I have yet to get a complete pass through on a turkey so I have been thinking about bumping up the weight :) Don't quite know what's going on there. I have shot them all in the back making them do the cosmic face plant. Don't know if there forward momentum and then the earth is stopping the arrow or what.....ultimately, dead is dead and they all died.
See ya'll in Ky next week followed by N.C. thanks, bigjim
My new dog stays home with mama...Besides, she could eat more than one turkey a day!
His blind is a camo circus tent!
Hey Cherokee, I have room for the midget clown in my camo circus tent so come join me. That is if you aint scared of thunder chickens.

Have FUN
Have a great time Jim. Oh and by the way thanks so much for providing all that extra shock cord for the kids armguards down in Tannehill last month. Very much appreciated and the kids really enjoyed building their own.
