Title: One Man's Quest,Brack style
Post by: Danny Rowan on August 25, 2007, 07:59:00 PM
I have owned a couple of Bill's bow in the past, one was too heavy for me and the other was lighter in poundage than I like, both great shooters but not quite the bow for me. I wanted one in the weight I shoot but due to timing of things was unable to order a custom for me. So I haunted Bill,s site until one showed up in stock that fit me. Well I got it! 62",62#@29",Hondouran rosewood riser, wenge core limbs with waterfall bubinga vaneers.
This thing smokes an arrow. Never thought I would find a bow that would take me away from my Blacktails, but they are getting jelous. I shoot one arrow from 20,one from 25, one from 30 and one from 35/40 yards in my routine. This is the first group of the day, they tightened up later but I wanted to show the shootability without warm up. Easiest bow to tune, I got it out of the box set the brace to recommendations and checked the nock. Talk about a user friendly bow,LOL. Ladies and gents if you ain't got a Brack Quest, ya need to get one!!!!

Now, ya do not find many bowyers that will let ya pay half on a bow and then send ya the bow before you send in the final payment, but that is what Bill did and I was floored. Speaks volumes to the mans character, at least to me.

And I thought the snake limbed Adcock bow was going to be your final bow purchase?     :D

Have to agree, the Quest are terrific bows!

Nice bow Danny. Not to piggy back on your post but I got my new Horne Takedown Ridgerunner in today and I feel the same way about it.
Can't wait for us to enjoy our new bows on the Texas hunt in Dec.

LOL Kathy, you always make my day with a laugh. Hush puppies are bout all I use anymore, they sure quite a string along with the bow hush. One half of a puppie on each end of the string at the 1/4's. Suppose I could trim them a bit,LOL.

Purty.  Your 20/25/30/35 groups look about like my groups....except they are 12, 14, 16 and 18 yards.  Geesh, guess I still have some work to do!

I never understand how the post office can say they aren't making money. Heck with just the shipping caused by the Rowan brothers they should be turning a profit.    :biglaugh:

I have a Non-Typical on order.  I have emailed Bill quite a bit to discuss options, etc...  Always get a response quickly and with some great info.  I can't wait to get my hands on this bow from a great guy.

I accepted "custody" of my third Brack a few weeks ago.  The most recent addition was a Non-typical to go with my Quest and Phantom.  They are all great bows, but the Phantom and Non-typical are two of the smoothest, most shootable bows I own.
Congrats to you, Danny, on "adopting" a beauty of a bow.  Be sure to share the news when she draws first blood!

Thanks everyone. Yep GREAT Bows. I did take the Blacktail out this morning and shot her for a while just to appease the jealousy,LOL.

Claudia, she has already drawn blood. Nothing special just lobed the head off a wild chicken at 15 yards in the jungle behind my house. Only "small game" we have here on Guam,LOL. She will be in the blind with me on Thursday and Friday evening trying for a pig.

Danny, Don't shoot it through a Chrono... You won't pick up another afterwards. I shot mine today with around a 530 grain arrow at 27 inch draw and shot 196 and 197 average with a 62 pound bow. It also shot a friends 850 grain arrow at 162 fps. That is smokin.  :readit:    :saywhat:

Ron, I have never cronoed a bow. But yeah, they are fast. Most of my arrows are 700 to 800 gr and it rocks the target with those. have come AD Trad Heavies I may try out of it, should be a blur out of this bow, I know they are out of my Griffin and Blacktails.
