Looking to buy a wood stove for a 14x16 wall tent. I have narrowed it down to the Outfitter model by Cylinder Stoves or the 4 Dog model by 4 Dog Stoves.
I like the air tight gasketed door on the 4 Dog which the Cylinder does not have but the Cylinders seem to have a loyal following.
I would like to hear feedback and opinions on the two. Thanks
Go with the 4-Dog. The airtight gasketed door is the best thing to control the fire. My tent is a 10x15 and I use the 2-Dog and its the best tent stove I have ever seen or used and I've been around a few over the years.I confess I haven't used a cylinder stove but wouldn't even consider it over the 4-Dog. Owned a Cylinder stove for over 20 years .. just like the day i bought it. Very tight stove .. you can't go wrong with a Cylinder stove!
4Dogs all the way they are a great stove!
I have also had incredible results and satisfaction with my cylinder stove. So much so that I even installed one in a cabin I recently built.
I have a 16 x 20 wall tent and use a 5 dog model by 4 dog stoves. It's great!

I have got a 12' x 15' wall tent and use the Cylinder stove. I am very happy with it and it heats up fast.
Sounds like they are both great stoves...any real difference in weight? Just in case your back is as bad as mine!!

I have the Cylinder Stove Hunter model. I always have the air intake opened at least a little bit, so the lack of a gasket to seal the door isn't really a factor to me. If I close the intake completely it slows the stove right down to the point I have to open them back up to let it breathe a little. It does a great job.
Have heard nothing but good things about the 4 Dogs as well - just don't have the personal experience to compare both side by side.
I don't think you would be disappointed with either of those choices.
Looks like it might be a choice between costs between the two models. I think the cylinder stove you are looking at will save you a few bucks.
