Nope not at all, you may even be able to go up to 175 grain point weight!! I would say 175 will even be better. Shawn

Thanx, slowly recovering from shoulder surgery, don't want to get buck wild shooting yet.

May cut them to 28 and see what they do.

Correct me if i am wrong but a 15/35 is a 600 spine shaft. With that point weight you should be close. If it were me though I would use a long 500 spine shaft with more point weight

Most guys do not want 4"s of arrow hanging past front of the bow though and you will be over 8gpp. if you go to 175 grain head. Shawn

I had some 500s at one point, they just never shot right even heavy points. I then switched to wood.

The 15/35 weighs 410 grains with the 145 point, so I am a touch over 10gp. Which I am happy with.

What shafts are they? That seems heavy for 15/35s! I am shooting 35/55 with 190 IP front and they weigh only 450. Shawn

Gold Tip, trad arrows, maybe my scale is off.

I would think it may be off.  I just checked the specs on the GT trads. The 15/35 is 7.6 gr/" so that x 28.75 = 218 + 145 tip = 363 + your nock, standard insert and feathers you might be around 380? Still that's plenty GPP for your 40lb bow so as long as its tunning good like you say I would call it good!

Yup, plenty of weight and if they shoot good be done with it! Shawn

That is plenty of weight for whitetails and the like. I myself like a heavier arrow so I do usually end up with a stiffer spine arrow at around 30" with around 250-300 grains up front.

So I went out and did some tuning, the 15/35 flew ok, my wood flew much better.

I had 35/40 and 40/45 spine. To my surprise the 35/40 shot the best. They are both 28" 100 grain point.

I'm shooting a talltines w/ 10 strand sbd string, seems very stange. I'm gonna stick with wood, but the spine has me confused.
