Title: Back with the bow.....
Post by: highpoint forge on March 23, 2013, 11:53:00 AM
Had to put it down for a while. Injured elbows, a new baby boy, and life got in the way. Shot the PLX Osage last week and of course it hooked me all over again. Been almost 17 months.....
17 arrows was all it took.

Glad your elbow is feeling better, the good news is, there are no rehab. centers for your archery affliction.

Welcome back.

That must have been a long time to be away from shooting.  It is easy I suppose with the pressures of a new baby and all that goes with that adventure.  I hope it helps give some focus time and helps manage the frenetic pace of life that will surely build as your boy grows.  Looking forward to your future posts with him at your side in the woods.  Welcome back.

Thanks. Been hunting a lot but not with the bow due to injury, which sucks, but a plan is in place to have endless hunting nearby and my son to enjoy it with me.....life changes in ways you can't imagine.....all for the better too.

I have a light bow , 40 lb, static recurve that is unfinished but can spray a couple coats on it to protect it and loan it for as long as you need. It would be a lot easier on those elbows for a bit to work with a light bow. No strings attached except to the bow;LOL. Anyway let me know if you are interested. OH I also have a 66inch string follow 40 lb you could use if you would prefer to shoot a longbow. You'd have to pay shipping on that one though. Other than that free for as long as you need it.
God bless you, Steve

Sixby that is quite a generous offer. Thank you. Your EW takedown LB is gorgeous. I'm not into light colored fancy wood but that is cool! I have more than I can use already and in lower poundages. I shot the longbow as usual today and half my arrows were dead on and half sucked, low and right. I then realized  the drifting and sinking arrows were Trad Only 340s.....(for another bow) and my CE250s were hitting the mark.

I shoot at small stuffed animals now and find it really, really tightens my groups. I've always hated targets & tend to shoot at the whole animal rather than picking a spot.....well a fuzzy little rabbit today caught some arrows.
