I had my compound bow stolen from my car when I was out scouting for deer. I it was 2 weeks before hunting season I grabbed my old Ben Pearson colt and started too practice with it that was 20 years ago. I have over 70 recurves and longbows. I look back at the day when they stolen my compound out of my car it was the best thing that could of happened to me.
Way to go. But I bet you would still like to get the theifs still. Stuff happens for a reason some times.
You turned what could have been a lemon into lemonade. Funny how things work out sometimes.
The person who stole your bow better hope you never find him. He would definitely be held responsible for the "traditional addiction" that he caused. At over 70 bows that could be expensive. :biglaugh:
Funny, but that particular compound is now obsolete, while your trads are still living strong. THEY ALWAYS WILL. Now that is ironic.
Sounds to me like he is still costing you money but may have saved you in the long run. Think how much you would of lost in resale if you had bought a new latest and greatest compound for the last twenty years like some people do.
On the other hand I'm thinking about suing the guy on craigslist that sold me three old Bear bows three years ago. Started an addiction that made me buy over 400 others since. Seems like I should be entitled to some kind of compensation.
It would be interesting to see how the thief turned out after all these years.
Meth or crack head who prolly sold that bow for a rock. Dead and rotting almost certainly by now.
Sounds to me like the stolen compound resulted in some very nice "unintended consequences".
The person probably thought that bow would look better in thier truck than it did in yours.
This is why we can't have nice things!
Forgive and forget, besides I bet that guy has had enough punishment already.Probably been shooting compounds for the last twenty years since he took yours. Can't think of a much harsher punishment than that! :D
Sorry about your loss, but I think it was a good thing. Maybe next they will steal someones inline smoke pole. Primitive hunting indeed. teehee
what a great story!
I had one stolen out of my display in Baltimore a few years ago i was praying hard would find its way home.... i had given up on her until reading this... I'll keep the faith going now... kirk
now there is some lemon aide.
