I am looking for osage saplings or seeds to plant on my property in western NC. Anyone know where to look?
I don't know of saplings but anyone with osage around could send you some hedge abbles they have thousands of seads in each.
Takes a LONG time for a osage to get big enough to make a bow though.
I've got thousands of bodarc balls on the ground now.....I can get you some seeds.....PM me.
here is a site that sells seedlings if you are interested in jump starting the process. http://www.musserforests.com
You can get seedlings from the Missouri forestry department. They start taking orders Nov 15. Their price for 25 saplings is around $8-10 bucks and they will sell to someone out of state.

Osage Orange Choices
Thornless and Fruitless Cultivars of Osage Orange include Witchita and White Shield -(Maclura pomifera 'White-shield') which is thornless even when very young and is preferred. Also Park and Pawhuska
The thornless 'White Shield' Osage-orange is available from Sunshine Nursery (580-323-6259)
