Let's start with its a 63" longbow, 55# at 28". Shooting GT 5575- 29". Brace height is 7-3/4"
Ok this bow is new and I'm still trying to tune it. I can't seem to get a consistent group. Most seem to go right but not always. I've tried different BH's, field points(100,125,145,175 and 200).
Need suggestions please.
What's your draw length? Are you left or right handed. Off the top of my head, I'd say those arrows are eat too stiff
Way too stiff. Not eat
Would also help to know specifically what bow you have or how close to center it is cut.
GT 5575 are stiff cut to 29" real stiff. Assuming you are not even drawing 27" if they are cut 29, you're gonna need 3555 or weaker. Depending on the tip weight.
Just curious what kind of bow is it?
I'm right handed, my draw is 28", it's a Maddog Mountaineer.
100 gn insert and a 200 gn head works for me at 29 inches
Same weight and draw length, 60 inch mild r/ d
Try some brass 50 gr. inserts if they still show stiff try 100 gr. brass inserts and play around with tip weight, but I think you'd be better off with GT3555 as stated above.
Good luck.
Wvstickbownewbie,
Just how "new" are you???? ANY attempt to tune BEFORE you are shooting consistently is futile!!! I agree that your arrows are probably stiff BUT... IF you just shoot them for a while, they WILL group. They MAY not hit what you are aiming at but shoot them anyway and as you get more consistency, they WILL group. That will be the time to try tuning NOT BEFORE!!!
Save your self a lot of time, effort, and money and don't worry about tuning for a good while.

You might try playing around with the nock point. If it's too low, particularly if you grip 3 under, it can result in erratic arrow flight. Run it up to 3/4", and see what happens to your arrow flight. You might not want to leave it there, but it's not going to hurt the bow to try it out. Generally speaking, if you run the nock point up too high, your arrows will impact too low, but they should fly well. If the nock point is too low, arrow flight will be erratic and you won't be able to group. If you don't see any improvement in your groups with the nock point higher, then drop it back down.
I obviously haven't been shooting as long as some but I can group where I look with other bows. But they were setup before I bought them. This bow hits hard and feels great. I just can't seem to get this bow to do the same.
So majority says add more forward weight and if the doesn't work go with 3555
Thanks
Think you've got a good plan.
Fistmeal sounds a little high as well. Otherwise I'm with Moebow.
Brace may be a tad high, but you need to add a lot more weight. I am not sure but that bow may only be cut to center. I would go with a minimum of 325 up front and you most likely will need more. You could go to a .500 spine cut to 29"s and start with 225 and see what happens. Shawn
Thanks everyone, I dropped the BH down to 7-1/8", which I'm still messing with and added 200gr field points. That combo really brought the arrows together. Again thank you for helping a newbie.
